Kimball / Jamison

I went on Amazon and listened to samples of the upcoming cd. Sounds good. I wish Jimi didn't lose his high end power in his voice. He seems to sound raspy and hoarse at times. It would be awesome if somehow he could get his voice to sound like Too Hot To Sleep or Empires again.

Jim Peterik brings out the best in his voice and they need to do a follow up to Crossroads Moment one day.

I agree on the part about another Crossroads Moment type project. Except I would prefer even more so that it would extend to a few other former Survivor members as well. I'd love to see a project that involves Peterik, Jamison, Bickler, Ellis and maybe Survivor's original drummer Gary Smith.

But if that doesn't happen, then I'd certainly settle for another Jamison/Peterik project.

As for Jimi's voice right now... He still sounds great. And if I'm correct, I believe that Jimi just turned 60 years old? I don't think a 60 year old can be expected to sound any better than Jimi still does.

I got my copy of the Kimball Jamison CD and DVD today.

After one listen I'd say that it's an excellent album. My only complaint is that the lead vocals seem a little too buried in the mix.

Maybe I'll feel differently after a few more listens?

The DVD is interesting. I'm glad that they made it.

I like the cd. Jimi does sound a little raspy, but not bad. It is amazing how he and Bobby can blend there voices, then sound so different. It is worth buying.

Yeah, it's a really good album. Very worth buying for any Jamison or Kimball fan.

The main part of the DVD is about 30 minutes long. It's made up of Jamison and Kimball talking about their careers, their influences, their childhoods, etc, etc. It also shows parts of Kimball's home and backyard, and a diner that Jamison likes to go to.

Then, it has music videos for 2 of the songs.

That's weak. I'd like to see a "Making Of The Album" featurette - especially with clips showing BK and JJ harmonizing together and practicing vocal parts. That'd be very cool. But kuds to them anyway for giving fans a bit of "extra" content.

It also shows Kimball playing the piano quite a bit. I never realized how good of a piano player Kimball is. And it shows Jamison playing acoustic guitar and a little bit of piano. I was already aware that Jamison could play guitar a little bit, but I wasn't aware that he can play some piano too.

Yeah, I'm aware of that. But on the DVD it shows a lot of Bobby Kimball playing piano for fun, and Jamison playing guitar and a little bit of piano for fun. I know that their not playing on the CD it's self. :)
