It does not pound in Europe. JJ alone gained more attention in Europe and especially in Germany than SURVIOR in the last 20 years.

Hi Def.....nice videos....

Yes JJ has played there 100 times to Survivor a small handfull...

But album sales wise....Survivor the band will always outsell JJ 15 to 1....Survivor is a LARGE recognizeable BRAND....

I am VERY Happy JJ is back....I just wish he would can the solo dates, and he and Frankie tour Europe as Survivor...ALOT....they would make more $$$ and the fans would be thrilled...

Hi Joe,

maybe you are right and Survivor sell 15 records a year in Germany and JJ only one. Maybe it is a few more, but most certainly not thousands. Of course everyone knows 'Eye Of The Tiger', but a lot of people don't know the name of the band. Of course a lot of people over here know ''I am Always There", but most of them don't know it is JJ and nearly nobody know that it is the second singer of Survivor who also sang 'Burning Heart'. Besides those songs the other Survivor-US-Hits have not been hits over here or are regularly played on classic radio over here.

So, what I want to say is, that I don't see any way that this once-again-reunion will in any way increase their popularity over here. They have not been exactly famous during the eighties, although they were on their peak of fame in the US. I have been lucky to see Mssrs FS, DB and JP live on their 'The Eye Is Back In '93'-Tour in Cologne Germany with Stan Bush as support. I guess around 1.000 people attended. But even in those days it has been difficult to find their records in stores. Nowadays you find them nowhere.

FS offended the small rest of his fan base over here by not appearing at the ROCK THE NATIONS-FESTIVAL this year, while bands like Journey, Foreigner, Thin Lizzy, Stryper, Manfred Mann’s Earth Band, Kansas, Saga, Night Ranger and FM did.

If this reunion leads to a new and good album it is very welcomed. By a reasonable approach the chances are minmal:

- REACH was poor, while EMPIRES was in great parts strong.
- It isn't a band anymore. It is a joint venture with the sole target of making some late bucks. Well, everyone is free do do so, 'let freedom ring', if you know what I mean, but don't be astonished when people notice it and don't like it
- In band like in a marriage there always can be conflicts. Just considering the different position the two took in their recent legal issues go - imho - far beyond that. I would be astonished if it lasts long.
- JP is not included and - although JJ is a great singer - Dave Bickler has always been the man...

What does this so-called chart entry really mean, Joe?

It is a US Chart....not Germany...and it means that after 25 years Survivor's music is still on Heavy rotation here in the United States....

Tell them that it's David Hasselhoff that sings them. Sales will fly through the roof there in Germany.

Leave out Germany, and the rest of Europe does not even know "Eye of the tiger" is actually Survivor! I know full well, since I'm originally from Italy. You dont hear any Survivor on the radio, and not a single cd in the stores (not even the collections). And that in a country were basically every declination of rock used to have an impact. Journey are well known there, and prog rock was always huge too and still is.

I dont have much hope in this rejoint unless they prove me wrong before 2012 by posting a pic of the band on the pfficial site and the announcement is posted on JJ solo site too...

Yeah okay. Sorry you can have David what's his name. Meanwhile Survivor was always a nice name in Asia. I'll take Japan thank you very much!!!! By the way found this on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SxSmmHEU0Qo. Looks like it was posted from Germany. Somebody there has heard of tiger!

I know what it is, the question was rhetoric. I doubt that this entry really means "heavy rotation".

Wow...they got their Xmas song on the charts. Can't we all just get along and give them props for once. It's great that their song is being heard by more than just us. Thanks for posting, Joe. I'm glad to hear that their song is doing well 9 years later. It is a Xmas song that's a good change of pace from the traditional fare what we are bombarded with year in and year out.

Yeah, but I as an american and german citizen I have to add that it stays in the family. It has been on the american side of the pond where he was made such a star. Unfortunately my german fellows tend to import things without differentiating between absurd nonsense (K.I.T.T.) and real tasteful videographic art (Baywatch) more and more . I guess 'I've Been Looking For Freedom' solely became a hit over here, because it meant a lot to some the of germans from the eastern part after the wall fell. They have come over it, believe me.
