I see. Reason why I asked is that I used to write a lot of "poetry". Actually, they were more or less songs, but I have no training in the music aspect, so I never have been able to put any of those songs with music. Actually, there was one song that a friend of mine helped me with. He created the music, I wrote the lyrics. Seems like when we were all said and done, the lyrics were severely gutted in order to fit into the melody he came up with. After that, I always felt maybe it would be easier sitting down and writing the melody (of course assuming if I HAD that type of talent) and then sticking words to it. Or, another thought is, coming up with the melody and the lyrics to the chorus and working back to the verse?

Hey....
I alsways have a melody when I write the lyrical content...otherwise, yes, they would get chopped up to fit...and I would not be thrilled if we did that!!!!!!

All Out of Tears
Lyrics By Joe Vana - Joe Vana Music ASCAP 2011
We both ended this journey
The road has been so long
The frost has left us frozen
We're sure that we're not wrong
The path has been so jagged
It cut us all the way
It left us bruised and battered
No words left to say.....
I'm all out of tears
The pain that I feel, won't leave me for some years
I'm all out of tears
Space and time might help me, conquer all my fears
But I'm all out of tears
Been long since I've seen you
We've gone our separate ways
I've waited for the feelings
To dull and then decay
But time has not been kind
The hole is still so wide
I'm looking for the answer
One that I'll never find.....
But I'm all out of tears
The pain that I feel, won't leave me for some years
I'm all out of tears
Space and time might help me, conquer all my fears
But I'm all out of tears
I asked so many questions
Was it me...or was it you
Did we leave before the answer
Should we have seen this through?
But I'm all out of tears
The pain that I feel, won't leave me for some years
I'm all out of tears
Space and time might help me, conquer all my fears
But I'm all out of tears
I'll never forget you, my path still is unclear
But I'm all....out of tears
