You have to register to see that link.

But I think someone on here had already reported that Survivor would indeed have music on the new Rocky Balboa Soundtrack. Seems only fitting since Rocky is pretty much responsible for Survivor's success!

I'm a member on IMDB.

Here's the info from the message board regarding Survivor. I didn't copy and paste all the comments, a bunch were complaining that it sounded too 80ish.

Survivor (Eye Of The Tiger) has written some new stuff for Rocky Balboa. According to the latest rumors, the song in the movie will be either

1. "Fire Makes Steel" or

2. "Reach"

You can check out samples of each here:

http://www.frontiers.it/Default.aspx?tabid=70&pl=S

(I used to think "Fire Makes Steel" would be the song used, but Frankie Sullivan, Survivor's guitarist and songwriter, recently said, "The song Reach has found a home that will blow your mind!" He said he couldn't elaborate further just yet, but it kind of makes me suspect that "Reach" might actually be the song for Rocky Balboa. Both songs work well in terms of lyrics, so it's anyone's guess at this point.)

Both of these songs are from the upcoming album "Reach," which is due out at the end of April 2006 (Survivor's first new album in about 17 years!)

Awesome. Sounds like Reach is Sly's pick and who'm I to argue? FMS woulda worked too, but I guess Sly thought Reach's theme was even more apropos, for an aging Rocky trying to reach for the dreams many baby boomers found unreachable (according to some press he's done that's his main point w/ resurrecting Rock.). This tie in (which has proved GOLD for both parties in the past) could be the break the band needs for this album.

PS I saw Stallone in Philly during the filming and he is a hell of a nice guy to the fans.

Thats awesome. It would be an honor to meet the man. Growing up watching the Rocky films was the best.

I really like these new tracks by Survivor aswell.

FMS is really MADE for a soundtrack! Why the band don´t offer it ? I remember Jim Peterik wrote a demo for the movie "Armageddon". They don´t use it but HE IS DOING SOMETHING !! Never standing still!

Apparently that "new home" was on an album that wasn't even available for purchase in U.S. stores. Yep, that was pretty mind-blowing, Frankie, thanks.

I also remember JP talking about a song called Alive. I believe he talked to Stallone in passing about using it. That was a long time ago.

Do any of you have either of the 2 songs that JJ submitted to Stallone for Rocky V? If I recall correctly, I believe they were titled "Never Surrender" and "How Can This Heart Survive?"

I've never gotten to hear them.
