You forgot too much snow. I think that to a certain extent he did use that excuse 2 winters ago?

Plus, when he admitted that all they're going to do for now is play live, he was only telling that to one fan, not admitting it on the internet.

Overdubbing would actually require going into a studio and using some recording equipment. This is Survivor we're talking about... you can't be serious.

This IS EDITED from the board mix....at .04 you can se he hits a chord that is not there in the audio...

Plus the vocal has been massaged, as all of it has...

BUT....the overplayed fills and the bad notes at the end of those was not fixed...

They probably did this for promotional purposes...

Slander, you are in the TV/Video biz, I would think you of all people would see this....

Have a GREAT Day.....JV

The stuff Frankie does on guitar in all of these clips would make Nigel Tufnel blush. It's crazy he's become this tasteless.

Jimi"s voice sounds terrible . What happened again. ? Crossroads Moment & Extra Moments he had the power back in his voice and that pitch . Since he left Peterik he lost it again. Kimball /Jamison cd he was real spotty and One Man's Trash he was really hoarse.

Peterik needs to bring the bite back in Survivor !

I noticed that, too, and am glad to know I wasn't seeing things. Does that mean that if the live audio was there with this video, you would hear Frankie hit an extra chord that isn't part of the intro of their biggest hit? If so, how do you flub the intro to your biggest hit, that you have been playing for 30 years? And it wasn't that he hit a sour note or played the wrong chord by accident. It looks like he hit an extra chord on the video that isn't there in the edited audio.

The question is, did Frankie screw up the intro, or was he overplaying it live, intentionally adding an extra chord? Or am I just off base here?

FS did NOT screw up!!! He has a really active right hand....I just used that as the indication it was edited!!

Believe me, I am going to be unbiased...if he didn't do anything I will say that too....but these clips DO NOT make me want to rush to see them.....but again, Mark is playing well!!!!!

Good to see JJ making up for some lost time with another new album; Counting Reach, that is 4 he has handled vox on in 7 years now, bnot bad considering...

This is heartbreaking.

The band sound absolutely awful. I leapt at the chance to hear Jamo performing some of the older material... yikes - what was Frankie thinking? Can he actually hear how bad it sounds? As for his playing and backing vocals... It's like he doesn't care anymore. No quality control, no objectivity, no one to reign in his ego. And I think maybe, subconsciously, he knows they're not good enough to do anything other than festivals and fayres. I would love to see Survivor, Foreigner, and Journey on a tour... but not THIS Survivor. Their musicianship (aside from Marc) just isn't up to scratch. I wouldn't pay to see them.

The keyboard player isn't the right choice for the band either. I like the fact he can come and play rhythm guitar, but his style doesn't suit the band (and what's with the solo?)

Does anyone else think that maybe Jimi isn't there by choice? Maybe a legal/contractual obligation or forced to do it because of financial difficulties? Given everything he had to say about Frankie around the time of the split, I was shocked to see him go back into that situation. I can't think that he did so of his own free will. It feels like, from the videos, he knows it's shit and doesn't want to be there. He even seems a little embarrassed.

I'd actually rather they didn't put out a new album with this line-up.

Jimi should get back with Peterik and do a follow-up to Crossroads Moment. Or they should go out as "The Survivors" or "Tiger's Eye" - something where they're paying tribute to the legacy of Survivor instead of crapping all over it like Frankie's doing. At least Peterik and Pride of Lions do the old songs justice.

So disappointed. :-(

I agree it doesn't sound good . I thought Jamison was really making waves in Europe over the past few years . He was playing with great musicians and got his confidence back as a vocalist . I thought he also had great vocal control and was becoming a much better showman.

Crossroads Moment & Extra Moments showed he still had a lot of his voice back . He sounds much better when he is singing Jim Peterik lyrics. Hopefully his new solo cd will be great .

I am really excited to hear new Pride Of Lions !

I don't think you have to worry about a new album.....

A few of my friends went and saw them, they were horrified....they mirrored alot of your comments, and also said it seemed a weird choice of tunes for JJ to do...I am SURE he did not pick the set list!!!

This must have JP smiling....that's all I can say.....

Thanks, JV, for clarifying they get $15K combined for the night. I remember attending a fest years ago (Ridgefest, maybe?) and as I was a roadie for the night, the guy that booked the bands for the festival said that Night Ranger cost $30K. That was around '05.

Thanks to you that know the other side of the performance to share your insight. Damn, I could not tell about any real missed notes, overdubs or whatever.

And, yes, I was the one fan FS told they're just going to be playing live. Is the Internet knocking down his door wanting to ask him the same thing?

I just watched the Hoffman show Rockin' Into The Night. Clearly Frankie has a much higher pitch (as we all know) than JJ and I think FS sounded alright. But I liked the guitar solo quite a bit. Now which show are we talking about?

The Princeton show on July 27th was seen by Mikele and he said it was good overall.

So...I would like some enlightenment

Hi MJ, I think the time for being enlightened is over. Why do we care so much about a band that has made it crystal clear they don't care about us! When you are to the point that you don't even know the words to the songs that your fans expect you to know after 30 years you are MALING IT IN!
