Just think about it, if u put Survivor up against a "modern day rock" band it does sound softer.. it's the generation gaps.. Most bands today rely heavily on half-naked women on music videos, tons of vulgar language and a bunch of other stuff...
Basically, what rocked then, sucks now for ALOT of people, especially the new generation of rockers... For example, has anyone heard Green Day's "remake" of EOTT? It's a joke, making fun of a legand. I remember a press release a few months back from some EMO band that stated "the reason that the old style sucks so much, it had no balls.". ... And don't get me started with MTV today... grr... What do u all think?

Well, FMS and GMTW Rock. But overall the album was way to damn light!

FMS, REACH, NEVERTHELESS, TALKIN' BOUT lOVE, GIMME THE WORD are hardly easy listening. Listen REACH is not my favorite album but it's far from light fare.

Good to hear from you Marcel. Reach is my least favorite Survivor album but I can't understand why people are trashing it. The PRODUCTION is rock solid! It sounds great. I think it will be an album that people will appreciate in time. I wish it was the comeback that LOVERBOY'S new one is. Check it out Marcel.

I'll see if I can get a hand on the new Loverboy record, although they've not been much my cup of tea. No harm broadening horizons though!

Hey Marcel,
You ain't kidding about the politics. Many on this board LOVED REACH, that is until FS and JJ parted ways. Then suddenly REACH became a rushed record with average songs. By the way Reach rushed? Gimme a break. I heard that both FMS and One More Chance were ready for the ULTIMATE SURVIVOR ALBUM IN 2004! So much for rushed. Marcel you should sample some of the audio cuts from New Loverboy. It's just solid melodicrock with an updated sound. I just wanted to use them as an example of what I expect from the next Survivor effort.

It's VERY solid.

Not the best but an effort that other bands would kill to have. It's better than Journey's generations that's for damn sure.

Generations is STILL my # Journey album (que 'Drew with an "er, come on now, Mate.").
