In the early 90's did Survivor just tour regionally? Like the Midwest? I don't ever recall Bickler, JP and FS touring on the west coast.

I never had the privilege of seeing Dave. This performance made me realize how his voice was best suited for the band. He rocks here. What is Bickler doing now? Is he working on something?

I believe he's happy making special appearances with Pete Stacker, singing the national anthem at ball games and doing the Real Men of Genius commercials for Buttwiper, I mean Budwieser :) Making lots and lots of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

but I still have this tiny microscopic sliver of hope that the original line up will get back together, Dave, Jim, Frankie, Marc, and Stephan and his aligator and all the world will be at peace again:) I know I know maybe when Hilary becomes president! :) j/k

Hey Silver,

Nothing is impossible. I'm with you. I love to see the guys get back together at some point. Is Dave working on solo stuff?

I here you there. I'm even having a hard time finding stuff to post. It's very quiet.

I used to go to his old website. Liked the tunes. I wonder if he ever performs local gigs.

Well, I've gotten to see them many times since 1993, (only once before that, which was in 1987) but I live in Cleveland Ohio, so I'm not that far from Chicago.

Well, for at least the last 5 years now there's been talk about Dave releasing a solo album. But the talk reminds me of the talk we used to hear about Survivor releasing an album in the mid-90's, late-90's and early 2000's.

I'd love to hear Dave put out a solo album. It would make my year. But sadly I doubt were ever gonna see that day.

Can't agree here. The song was written for Dave's street tough vocals. While I love JJ, the song loses it's gritty feel. Might as well have neil diamond or wayne newton belting out Tiger.

Did you guys know that on Itunes you can buy a version of Eye of the Tiger with Great White singing? It actually sounds a lot like McAulley actually...which isn't all that pleasing to me...but check it out...

Eye do you like Robin's version? I heard him live and thought it was outstanding but it doesn't come across well on the recent recording.

It's okay i guess...i've never heard it live (I have on some live boots, but they were early on)...Don't like it all that much on the recent recording....

I liked JJ's okay and nothing will ever be as good as Dave....

And honestly, I could have done without Jack Russel either...lol

This industry is filled with people and groups of people that can suck the life out of someone....Dave is working with GREAT guys on the Budweiser stuff....my old partner Jon Smith engineers the commercials and is a joy to work with...Dave I am sure has made more $$$ doing those commercials than he ever has and he is stress free musically...I can't explain it well here, but I am VERY Happy with Dave's success over the past few years....WE may want him in Survivor, but I am sure Dave is quite happy with what he is doing...and I respect that completely....

And as far as some other posts I say this...Dave was/is/will always be the one original voice of "The Eye of the Tiger"....many can sing it, Hell, I have sung it live...BUT, when WE hear it in our Heart of Hearts it's Dave's voice.....Dave, Frankie, JP, Stephan and Marc are the ONLY guys who played on it, so in my minds EYE they are the pistons in that engine.....Some guys just keep re re re re re releasing different versions of the tune, why????....the SURVIVOR tune....it dillutes the very essence and soul of the song....it's not the theme of some game show, or a rehashed overly done parody song about a sports team....it's a serious emotional power driven song....so besides the REAL Survivor out there, and there is only one (Frankie and the gang)...I could care less about whoever else is doing a COPY version of it....and that's what it is...a COPY version....and, a copy song to pay tribute is completely acceptable IMHO...but to put asses in the seats using others blood sweat and tears?????.......nahhh...not getting my dollar....

JMHO....

vana, if you want to rip Jamison or JJ and JP for covering EOTT live than come out and do it, what's the passive/aggressive innuendos about "copy" versions and all that?

First off, don't attempt at putting words into my mouth....you will get bitten.....

That song has been covered by tons of people.....and Live is not my problem....ever....

If I wanted to call someone out I would....I have no problem with JP or Jamo....

Unlike you I am a part of this, that's why I commented....you merely sit behind a computer screen somewhere and throw stones, and provide NO new incite beside incendiary remarks...I have sang on 3 recorded versions of Tiger with JP....and sang it live with him dozens of times.....and was quite proud of my work...

If you actually KNEW what you were talking about you would be dangerous...but you are merely a gossip columnist....and the worst kind....an uninformed one.....

I'm sorry JOEPA. JJ is a great vocalist and I stress GREAT! He's an amazing. It's well documented but I do draw the line with him SINGING EOTT IN A LOUNGE. Look for the clip on YOUTUBE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WL4LvzFJ6MA. I think it is an insult to a great song! Hey JJ was Wayne Newton or Celine Dion not available?
