Dude...the last two times I've seen Survivor it's gotten worse and worse...I saw them last July in Charlotte and I swear Dunaway and Groves were literally shaking their heads, looking embarrassed during FS's solos.....the crowd even started to yell a bit...i live a solo as much as anyone...but it is toooo much....

survivor problems?

Postby silvergirl66 » Thu Jun 29, 2006 1:46 am

I read on the site where a show was cancelled last weekend in Missouri. What's going on? I know not letting people know ahead of time that they are cancelling shows is going to hurt them even more. People usually have to plan for a show and take off work, drive for hours (gas isn't cheap anymore), and sometimes have to stay in a hotel, and find out when they get there that a show was cancelled!! Now if they are having problems fine, it's not the first time right? But be alittle considerate to your fans! They need all they can get these days. I always felt like the only person in the band that cared was Marc, he honestly worked at keeping fans.

I love Survivor but they've never been high on my live performance list. I've read a couple of posts recently that FS has been going way overboard on the guitar solos. He's actually my favorite guitarist in the world, so I can't actually complain about that. He gives a guitar a voice like no other and his solos actually keep in time with the rhythm of the song (I hate solos that disregard the rest of the song).

I hope there's not more problems ahead for Survivor. I don't want to wait another 20 years for the next album!

I know we like to think it's all about the music, but in reality, working with the same people for 3 decades doesn't happen in too many industries. I do hope, however, that they will come and play my retirement party in about 30 years!
