First Reach Show, "AJ":

RIP Frankie's Playtoy

Well, if the way Frankie's character has come across repeatedly is your idea of someone w/out character issues, I'm sure Jimi will take your assessment of his character as a compliment.

And maybe the judge who ruled in Jimi's favor in that litigation was right. Most of the hits came with JJ singing.

Frankie has kept the band alive...That speaks volumes to commitment and character. Frankie is believes in music. Frankie lives music. Jamo can serve drinks.

And your last sentance proves you still believe in trash talk about JJ being kicked out.

"Frankie believes in music." :) What did he believe in the last 17 years? Lawsuits?

And why do you think that judge ruled in Jamison's favor anyway? :?

So did Jimi Jamison when the courts put the kibosh on Frankie from stopping him.

So were Frankie's. Hence, Jimi got to use the name.

Tell that to Dave Bickler. He says Frank didn't bother.

Listen you guys can trash Frankie all you want if it makes you feel better but others who support him will not let it go without comment. Have you ever met Frankie. Sat down, spent time with him? Yeah I didn't think so.

Dude I don't need to name drop. I could careless. I'm also not going to brag about sitting down with a guitarist from an 80's band. Give me a break. No offense to musicians but there not exactly curing cancer or solving the worlds problems. No this is not Kevin.

Hm. This from a guy who's first post on the matter was a thread called "Hypocrisy" referring to Jimi. If you're going to dish it out, deal with it.

Deal with what? Your comments? Like I said you are free to say whatever you want. I for one will not let you guys crap on Frankie and the band. I just won't. Sorry. And yes, the Jamison camp are hypocrites. I site the 1999 empires interview. Damn Jimi sure was such a nice guy in that interview. Dave can't sing? Sounds like Jamo may be a bit insecure about his own abilities. I for one like Jimi's voice but man if you have to trash another singer who has had throat issues in the past, than you must doubt your own abilities. Seriously why don't you guys to JimiJamison.com and gush.

What about that quote? I stand by it. I don't know why you guys are so mad at Frankie. Come on, you've got a nightclub to go and another Jimi solo record to look forward to.

Now Im just really wondering how exactly did Robin sing if this is anything to go by. Can't imagine it yet.

What the hell does it have to do with any of us? We who don't talk philosophy with Frankie or drink 6-packs with "aloof" Jimi are far from the loop.

Serious inquiry I wonder if Jimi will pick up using the name again now. My guess is not since all seems to at least be temporarilly patched up and I bet by '08 we have a full-blown Vital Signs classic era reunion.

That would be incredible, they had a special magic together that is for sure. I didn't know of Robin M. until recently and he reminds me of someone and I couldn't think of who until today, not voice wise but I think he looks a little like Billy Squier.

I was fortunate enough to see the Wisconsin show. Robin was great!!!! Yes, they had a few flubs but nothing major. Robin has a great voice, sounds great singing Survivor and fits like a well worn pair of jeans. His energy and personality is what Survivor was missing with JJ. He made eye contact (no dark glasses) and made the crowd a part of the show. He knows how to work a crowd. It was a great show. I was expecting a much different Robin, I suppose more hard edge but he sang Survivor as though he had been doing it all his life.

Jimi who???????

Are you telling me that Robin didn't sing high pitch? Do you think he revocalized to fit in with the Survivor sound? Please tell me, thanks.

Robin's voice was powerful, very clean and clear. I am not sure what you mean by high pitched. Yes, he has great range and can hit the high notes without effort. I think he is a true talent and continued with the true Survivor sound. His delivery of the songs added with his confidence made for a great show. I was thoroughly impressed. The last few times I saw JJ perform is was so boring, no energy.

By the way, I don't remember a guitar solo in the show. I read on this post that it was 20 minutes and that was not the case at all. As I posted on another thread, I believe the guitar solos were for JJ to rest his voice, since there was no solo in Wisconsin, I am convinced that was the case.

I think Robin is the best thing that has happened to Survivor in a long, long time. Nothing against JJ but they needed a breath of fresh air. They have found that in Robin.

Can't remember the exact order but here goes.

Reach (opened)
Take you on a Saturday
She's a Star
Poor Man's Son
Burnin Heart
High on You
Can't Hold Back
Fire Makes Steel
PLAY THAT FUNKY MUSIC (by Robin)
Summer Nights
Seconds Away
Search is over
EOTT (close)

Maybe a couple of more, just can't remember. A great show though.
