I've been listening to some MSG and Robin does sound like the lead singer of the Scorps. At least you can understand him, I could never understand most of hte Scorps songs.

Yeah, Robin is awsome on Eye of The Tiger also. They do sound like the scorpions huh? That's ok, just as long as you can understand the vocals good. Scorpions are awsome! Robin gives Survivor a more 80' s sound which rock! Scorpion like vocals + a steve perry look alike (almost) = a future of great music.

He is great on FMS and Reach too, however I agree with you all on Frankie's vocals though, too much :P perhaps the recording was closer to him. I like Robin's accent and he seems like a nice person during the breaks and the crowd seemed really into it. I agree with whoever said that this gives fans a chance to hear songs they've never heard live. I mean, I enjoyed his song "anytime" from the 80s MSG but now from what I've heard so far, this guy is going to give the band a chance to have new life blown in it.

When I first listened to the stuff, I thought of Robin Zander. However, he sure does have a sound of his own and frankly I think FS and the rest seem to be enjoying themselves.

High On You and Reach would be my top pics. While FS deos sound a bit too much in some tunes, others he complements Robin quiet well and the diffrent take of FS's background gives them an added vibrancy and tone, I think. Nice in parts!

Chris's intermission was blind blowing. Very pleasant!

Mmmmm... the recording doesnt really do him justice.... the dynamics of this recording make him sound quite weak, as regards power, compared to JJ or Dave at their peak, but it may just be this recording...certainly he hasnt got a startlingly great voice that makes you go "wow", similar situ to JSS over at Journey world, good but , well...not awesome by any means

where oh where are the great, great vocalists?? Anyone remember Lou Nadeau, from Canadian rockers Wrabit? what a voice

Im in agreement with you here. Not a startling voice. However, he's pretty good and complements the tunes. Except when he strains with the "EEEEYYYYEEE of the Tiger"

His showmanship is first rate though me thinks. FS made a good choice I feel.

Ive not heard of Lou but remember Fredi Curci (Alias and Sheriff). Great voice imo!

Frankie looks like he's healthy again, or maybe this whole new lead singer thing has just brightened him up all together. He just didn't look well for awhile there.

Here you go!

8/24/06 - In Thinking.
I write everything, not just songs, from the heart and from the soul. It defines and focuses what one is made of and just how in touch they are with themselves and the world around them. In “The Tibetan Book of Living & Dying” the call being at one their ultimate goal in life. No ones even sure if you ever reach it but it sure feels hella good trying!

So there you go and right off the bat I’ve given the darker side something to bite down on and chew on. It has absolutely no affect on me and I live to please the teaching and words on one man and no one else. The idea is we all live in harmony and as impossible at it may appear some of us can actually pull it off.

The shows with Robin have been nothing short of great – from my perspective. After spending my entire life in this industry I think I know enough to speak intelligently on the subject. I have also learned, even in the past few months, lessons that if I would have knows years ago would have changed he course of the Survivor including the lineup. Oh well.

Robin is so exciting to play with. He commands the stage and has the certain “thing” one cannot learn. You are either born with it or not but it cannot be mimicked. Its what I call the Real Deal, like with Joe Perry. You see Joe and ‘the read deal” instantly pops into your mind. And boy is he the real deal. Whew… Talk about Rock N’ Roll…

We are off to do two shows this weekend and then sit and make more than our share of tough decisions. Thanks Go I have been given one of wisdom to guide ma and help us do what’s best for us to do. Charlie Brusco is at most and at least my friend. And for him sitting at our table and throwing in his knowledge of what we should and more importantly should not do is a gift. I have been a friend with his family for a long while now and I appreciate them both as people and friends. I watch him methodically help move his other acts along in the business like a mater chess player.

Anyway, I am off to do the shows his weekend and then into the studio once again with Robin McAuley! I remember how fast he was at nailing the vocals. I clearly recall the vibe in he room when he was nailing it as the track moved along. And I do recall, as with Eddie Money, standing and giving him an ovation after delivering a great vocal performance. I so look forward to this you have no idea.

We never dished Jim Jamison here on the site. We simply stated that for him to take a bunch of strangers and call them Survivor for any reason was wrong to do. It was. But there has not been any nor shall there be any bashing on this site no matter what a very very few may wish to see. We’ve all made this journey together one way or another. And in togetherness we find security and brotherhood. Like I said, there are no motives or agendas other than what each of us can do to make this the best Survivor you fans have spent an evening enjoying…

Now, that’s the last of it and let get on with the show, literally! Its turned into one big party and you are all invited!

And do we assume JJ's using the Survivor moniker again?

Or maybe the promoters jsut promoted THAT show as srvr, sinc srvr cancelled..?

I don't think there is anything MAJOR like JJ using Survivor. The venue promoters likely took advantage of the audience, I think.

Heard the Robin KC show....

He fits...the band was on...Sullivan and Droubay were phenomenal.

Frankie the guitarist, that is. Frankie the BG singer definately needs his mic turned down. During the choruses it sounded like Frankie was the singer and McCauley doing the bg vox.

I think FS and RM will do fine together. Well the concert Ive heard they are just having a great time. Say what you want about FS. I think his voice is better than average. Same goes for Steve Lukather. Not brilliant enough to handle a fair share of tunes (although Steve did) but FS can blend in well if he wanted.

LOL! Welllllllll, I'm hoping it will be Survivor. Being in Chicago area I would bet money it will be the REAL THING. That's not quite JJ's territory. I would love to record it for you all but I'm not very technically inclined.
