FS can choose what ever damn songs he wants to put on a new album. He doesn't need your approval. JJ's comment on the quality of REACH is stupid as well. While the album didn't have the edge I would have liked it sounds great overall. The quality is top notch. Once again all of you turncoats loved the album when it came out and then when JJ left you guys trashed it. It's most unfortunate. A little honesty here would be nice.

Jamison's hearing Survivor songs with him singing in multiple movies and being paid nothing for it.

Like I said, poor JJ. He is an infant. He's a child. Wow Jamison must have been completely out of touch. He should sue right now. He needs to get on the phone with attorney and demand he get paid for what is rightfully his. Calling any JJ fans that know lawyers. Is there anyone out there willing to work per diem for this man Jimi Jamison that has been so deprived of what is rightfully his? This is an injustice that needs to be corrected. Surely there is a lawyer out there who loves JJ that can right this terrible wrong. What nonsense. If JJ's interview is at all true. Than he was stupid for staying in Survivor and making Reach. It's his fault.

Im sorry but Slander has really good points. JJ keeping quiet so after 1 year?

Yes, God almighty. Waiting so long and then the rant. Priceless!

Frankly, this interview coming out now is also weird. August 2007, and here's JJ saying he doesn't care if it came out then. I don't like the timing whatsoever.

The interview (if you want to call it that) is old. Secondly I love the soft ball questions. Why didn't the interviewer press JJ about anything? Why did he take what JJ said as gospel?

This rant of JJ SHOULD have been demonstrated earlier. If Im not mistaken (can't remember) wasn't August 2006 Robin's first show with the band? And this interview is exactly a YEAR later.

I agree. It's somewhat old news. I do understand Andrew wanting to post it though because JJ didn't open up in the interview he did back in August of 2006. It would be interesting to get JJ's take now. I wonder if he regrets trashing Marc, FS, and Survivor's accountant. It sure doesn't make JJ look good. It makes him look petty and vindictive.

I don't think he regrets anything he said.

He also did not trash Marc Droubay he said the guy's too talented to be treated like some Frankie side man.

Let me step in. First off, we got a guy with a Frankie Sullivan avator defending Frankie. It is not like you aint going to get bias opinions there.

You gotta look at the history of Survivor. Seems like vocalists are treated like session musicians. Secondly what happened to Peterik and Ellis? Only one still there is Marc. Slander you can look at it thru rose colored glasses, but are you happy with the way this band evolved? it is clearly obvious with all the comments over the years and things like a Survivor concert which half of it is a Guitar Solo. How many people in the audience or band where happy with that? One....Frankie. Frankie acts like he is freakin Les Paul. There is stuff wrong here. So go ahead put on your blinders. Survivor was best when guys like JJ, Peterik, Ellis and Bickler. Frankie is ruining the band and if in fact it sold more records Frankie would change the name to the Frankie Sullivan Band....or maybe he doesn't need too since Survivor is Frankie. Why is it JJ and JP can play with each other but not with Frankie?

I agree with JoePa, Jimi never a ripped Marc. Just wondered why he says.

He doesn't trash Marc? Here's a quote:
“Yeah, but he was more in the boot with Frank than with me… I don't know what's wrong with him man… Sullivan has some kind of hold over him"

That's a direct quote and utter bullshit. What's wrong with Marc? Maybe Marc likes FS. Maybe Marc is happy being a part of Survivor. Frankie has some kind of a hold over him? Marc is a grown man. He's talented and smart. Sorry Marc doesn't play this naive victim like JJ. Like I said JJ is acting like a victim. Brainwashing...Demons...blah blah f-ing blah. What garbage. Jamison is a grown man and he should act like it. He should take responsibility for his time in Survivor. If everything he alleges is true he should have walked away. Damn JJ take some responsibilty and quit pointing fingers.

Give me a break. There's is an interview on this website that issues pesonal attacks against Frankie Sullivan. There are also claims of shady business practices. There is no balance. I don't work for FS and I don't speak for him or Survivor. I'm merely pointing out that if what JJ alleges is true than why not walk away or sue? Was anyone holding a gun to JJ's head to make REACH? Was anyone forcing JJ to stay in Survivor under those terrible conditions? Jesus JJ makes it sound like he was in the movie HOSTEL! JJ chained without food and water in FS basement. He was forced to sing EYE OF THE TIGER without payment. JJ is a grown man. Why not walk away? It is a question that you and RED or whoever can't answer. Why not sue? So excuse me Rock. These are legitimate questions. How are these questions biased? Don't give me this bias crap when there is clearly a bias interview by JJ without any response from FS, Marc, or for that matter Frankies accountant.

First of all you read what you want to read Rock. I have been critical of FS many times on this board but damn at least I show some objectivity. No I'm not happy with how things have evolved with the band over the years. I wish DAVE would have never left. So no I'm not happy with what happened. In regards to Frankie's guitar solo in I SEE YOU IN EVERYONE, it has been blown out of proportion. Was it long? Hell yes. Was it what some on this board make it out to be? No. And no, half of Survivor concerts were not FS guitar solo. See this is where you guys lose me. It's the bullshit over the top hyperbole when you make comments about FS. Many of you fail to have objective conversation.

I saw a concert where they played a total of 6 songs and a 20 minute plus guitar solo. I am not off about that.

I agree with you about suing, but Slander over 99.999% of the comments you make all defend Frankie. I am trying to say look at what happened to this band over the years. It went from a band to the Frankie Sullivan Show. The facts are there but you neglect them. Ok you can nitpick Jimi's words....go ahead and be a lawyer. But the evidence is there, just read between the lines. It is very simple band members are dropping like flies. Other than Marc, they all leave. That tells you something. Why Marc hasn't left only Marc knows.,,,maybe the guy just loves walking out on the stage as Survivor. It aint good.....but rather than look at the evidence.......you with your rose colored glasses on want to say that rather than Frankie it is everyone elses fault. Fine you watch the Frankie Sullivan Show.

Rock I'm sorry about your concert experience. If that was the case that sucks. I have been critical of Survivor many times. I for one wish they would let out more information. I wish the pr would be better. I wish FS would let fans know him better. I wish they put out more albums. There are many things to take shots at. No I don't have rose colored glasses. However I don't think FS is the anti-christ. He's just a man. He's not perfect. Band are like families and good god do families have problems. Rock you even you would have to admit there are a lot of sides to the story. I wish we had Frankies.

I don't think I'm nitpicking JJ's words at all. I'm just merely asking some honest questions. If JJ's situation was so dire than why not leave? I think that's an honest question. If JJ hated FS than why come back? I think that's an honest question. Don't you? No one forced him to come back or for that matter be part of survivor from 2000-2006. Why is he a victim? If he didn't make any coin from REACH why doesn't he sue FRONTIER RECORDS? Why isn't JJ better with business dealings? Why does JJ admit to living off of his credit cards? These are honest questions. JJ accuses FS, FS accountant etc of stealing. I find that offensive.

There was a time here that even I was getting e-mail complaints about the long solos....I forwarded to my band contact who said I was not alone in getting such comments.

Andrew,

I don't think anyone disputes this. My issue is the rediculous hyperbole. That's my issue. Okay FS is a little self-indulgent in concert. Does that make him the anti-christ or like many other ego driven muscians in rock? Fair question.

Well, I kinda agree here. Reach was not a killer record and reading between the lines in my interview with Frankie and listening to the record - those vocals do sound rushed at times. And Frankie sings lead on the best track of the album. It was certainly a little strange.

You are a class act and I admire your passion for melodicrock. However I agree with you to a point about not being responsible for the content. As a journalist, I believe it is ones job to do follow-up. I thought the interview lacked a lot of objectivity. That's my opinion. As an interviewer you can also ask questions to paint a certain person or issue a particular way. I think journalist have a responsibility to attempt balance. I hope you contact FS, Paradise Artists, Frankies accountant etc about this. JJ implies downright illegalities.

Andrew/MR.com did not conduct that interview, Slander.
Why are you and MarcelJordan implying that this site/Andrew has done something off here in running the interview?

Believe me, Slander. Once you take this to Frankie and Frankie takes it to his array of attorneys who "protect the Survivor treademark (   )" the lawyers will say, "we can't issue (another) cease and decist on MR.com, that'd be killing the messanger. Want our advice? Book some shows, record that album you've been talking about since 2006 and generate revenue the old fashioned way."

Fair enough Andrew. That's all you can do. However with the serious of JJ's claims I think it is utmost of importane we get to the bottom of this. Isn't JJ claiming illegalities here? I think this is serious. I'm hoping to contact the band myself over this. I think this needs to responded to. I will ask you Andrew have you emailed FS to make him aware of the interview and Jamison's claims?

Bottom line - I take full responsibilitiy for everything on this site. As for follow ups, well, Frankie didn't follow up my last enquiries to him...
As I stated, everyone knows where to find me.
One could also look at it this way - my last interview with Frankie was very extensive....perhaps this Jimi interview balances that out?

As for the interview not containing objectivity....the interviewer didn't push Jimi one way or another or have any bias for or against either/any individual.

Hmmm. I guess I don't see it that way. I wish I could have actually seen him ask the questions. That might change my opinion a bit. I felt he soft balled JJ. I don't think you would have done that Andrew. JJ implied Frankie ripped him off. He doesn't really ask for any specifics or ask for evidence. I have to be honest Andrew. I have been a fan of your sight since I stumbled on in it 1999. I can't recall an interview where someone issued personal attacks like Jamo. I think this is much worse than anything EVH said about DLR and that's saying something. I don't think this is one that isn't going to go away any time soon. It really saddens me. I also don't think FS interview from 2006 balances JJ's out. When did FS in that interview criticize JJ? I don't think FS accused JJ of anything. I think it's fair to allow FS to respond to allegations that he ripped off Jamison. Keep up the good work.

Red don't change the subject here. Andrew did nothing wrong. Andrew didn't do the interview. My issue is that Mr. Jamison implies that FS did something illegal or shady. I think it's only fair that Andrew give FS the space on MR.com to respond. This is no ORDINARY interview with ORDINARY answers. There are some serious charges here. I think FS and Survivor camp as a matter of fairness must be given the right to respond and every effort should be made for them to do so. I don't think FS interview from 2006 is adequate.

Ok....Jimi spoke his mind as any artist interviewed will do.

Secndly...I STILL have not heard from Frankie since being slapped with a cease and desist order from a lawyer regarding my MelodicRockFest event. He chose not to respond to my e-mails or phone calls back then, so forgive me if I don't feel a burning desire to chase him up about this.

As with any website and any interviewer, if another party reads something they don't like and feels as if they would like to respond, then the door is always open for them to do so.

And that is that.

Andrew I appreciate your candor here. I really do. As a fellow journalist though I have interviewed many people I didn't like even though it wasn't my burning desire to do so. I can relate. I just think with the seriousness of the allegations it is worth pursuing. Thanks for posting.
