Yes an opinion about music. Not about somone's finances or relationships with colleagues. Eye, Red, let's open up and talk about your girlfriends, check book etc. Let's put that all on the table. Let's talk about axecrew's paper route or job with amway. Let's put that all under a microscope and let's see how comfortable you feel discussing it on a message board. Then again maybe you will because you guys have such an inflated sense of ego that you would actually think we are interested.

when you are a public figure that is what you open yourself up to Slander...geeze, aren't you in TV...should you not know that?

You ever read an entertainment weekely? People Magazine?

I mean come on...maybe only on this board anymore, but he is a public figure...it's up to him to control the perception of him...and we can bring up whatever we want...that's the right we take on when we spend our hard earned money on him...

you know that...i know you are smarter than that...

you also, took another passive aggressive swing at Axe there...

Gimme a break. Axe can handle himself. At least he thinks he can. As for FS being a public figure? Yeah I suppose. So let me get this straight: you are comparing yourself to such rags as entertainment weekly and people? What's next the Star and Enquirer? Please tell me you hold yourself up to a higher standard in your life. Is this what you count on for accurate news about people? Damn you make my point more and more.

What is it you are entitled to Eye? What is it axe, red, and they other FS bashers want? What? That's the issue. You guys carry on and on with the same bs. Like I said what is it you want?

I can't speak for them,so I won't.....But as for myself......I want the right to speak my opinion about a subject as I see fit. WITHOUT being told by some pimply faced mama's boy that I'm wrong. I have the right to "call it as I see it". And if you don't happen to agree......tough shit? Why do you care what we say? You,yourself have said we are no one or nothing,so why are you trying to protect the masses from us maniacs? Do you always spend this much time worrying about no one or nothing?

As for my "rights" I have a right to my opinion from 20+ years of experience in the trenches of this business and no basement dwelling wanna-be is going to tell me otherwise. If you respected our comments as our opinions, instead of trying to argue them every single time, we'd all get along a lot better. Besides, do you really think that sullivan...a) Cares what we think and b) gives 2 shits about you defending his honor etc? You are no more important than anyone of us and since in your opinion we are worthless.......do the math.

OMG not another idiot who has to spout his resume as proof that his opinion somehow means more than others. I could give a rats about your 20 years experience blah blah blah. Call it as you see it. Go right ahead. I will continue to sift through the nonsense as I always have trying to keep things balanced on the message board as much as possible. I don't care what FS thinks of me or anyone else on this board for that matter. I'm not that sensitive. By the way I'm not interested in getting along with you. It's not important to me. It would be nice nice however to talk about music for a change whice I mistakenly thought was the whole point of this message board in the first place. I didn't think the message board was for guys like you who have to fill some f-ed up void in their life by trying to tear down others. Damn it really is pathetic.

Really I'm the moderator? That's why this FS bash-fest has continued for years on the message board. You guys just can't handle balance. I'm sorry at least one of us won't allow the idol JJ worship cult going on here.

Glad you think so Eye. What is it that I have said? That I think it would be great if we could discuss music. That I strive to create balance on the board. That I try to get both sides of the story. I'm sorry Eye if you want to live in a world where our sources of information are ew, people, the star, and the enquirer. I'm sorry if you prefer Entertainment Tonight over 60 minutes. I have a little higher standard for where we get our news about people places and things. EVEN ON MESSAGE BOARDS.

Slander, I only pipe in every now and than. Yes, these guys are Survivor fans. They come on here and have made how many posts about Survivor in the past how many years? They are big Survivor fans.

What I don't understand is why you take such an exception to them saying anything negative about Frankie. They are upset because Survivor has become the Frankie Sullivan Band. These guys only post because they want back the Survivor they love not some Soap Opera. It is really that simple. Is it that hard to understand?

Rock I have been critical of FS on this board many times. All I am asking is for the criticisms to be fair. The soap opera imho was not created by Sullivan. When has he gone to the press to knock other members? When? I think the level of hostility on this board is disproportional to what has actually happened to the band over 30 years.

Aside from the anger and resentment that Jimi Jamison opted to air dirty laundry have you put any consideration into WHAT that dirty laundry was and why Jamison broadcast it?

BTW, I'll save you the time and effort and will supply your canned retort:

"I like Jamo, hell of a guy and a decent singer. Even IF I hear is voice on Baywatch reruns and the film Spy game. But is he an infant? Why's he talking? Frankie's taking the high road as usual. Why does Jimi have such bad business sense anyway? Why doesn't he sue? I criticize Frankie all the time. He doesn't share his genius and craft with us enough. Grow up, Jamo.
I like Bickler. He has the gritty street vibe. But why's he have to resort to degrading himself in Bud Light jingles? Bad business sense. I like JP. Heck of a guy, decent songwriter, but let's be real. No business being near a guitar and Frankie's the keeper of 'The Feel.' I like Andrew, he provides us a great service. Having said that, I also believe in journalistic integrity. Damn, the bias on the board is criminal. Damn if you guys could only SEE yourselves."

Nice try Red. But you will never find a single post on here where I'm critical of Mr. Bickler or Mr. Peterik. I know you'd like to think differently. I am quoted repeatedly on this board saying that the true Survivor runs up to 1983! As far as JJ yup I sure have some problems with some of what he has done. Having said all that your little post continues to prove my point of a bias slant on this board. You guys are as objective as FOX News Channel.

There you have it folks. I have to back him up on this one,his mantra all along has been that sullivan should be more forthcoming with the fans and tell them what's going on in the survivor world. Of course, this is coming from the guy who recently told us all that we aren't entitled to know anything and that sullivan owes us nothing....he obviously isn't including himself on that list of non-people.
Slander..... You really took the gloves off on that one!

I personally feel that any info that effects survivor, whether it be personal or not, should be disclosed to the fans. The fans have the right to know what is going on with their favorite band....good and bad.
If they can't or aren't recording new music because of a copyright lawsuit or whatever....the fans should know
If they are doing side jobs for free, instead of new music or shows......the fans should know.
After all the fans are the ones who make the emotional investment in a band and it's in bad taste for a band to take that investment for granted.

Slander, I'm really sorry you can't see that the ones ripping sullivan are also the ones with the longest time investment in the band as a fan. I'm equally sorry that you can't seem to see that we all want the band to live up to it's full potential and when we see or hear something that takes away from that, then we are going to say something about it.
I'm equally sorry that we don't nor will we ever agree on sullivan and his role in the dismantling of the band at various stages and years. You seem to feel that he had nothing at all to do with i and I feel he was the sole cause of it all. Let's look at the list...
Ellis- Doesn't count as his deal is well documented.

Droubay- Was fired before Too Hot was recorded....some say Peterik was the one, others say sullivan....who knows, maybe the truth is somewhere in the middle.

Peterik- Again no one has ever said what truely went down, but it's obviuos there was a falling out. Left of his own accord and sold sullivan the rights to the name etc.

Bickler- Left due to health problems in 1983/84. Came back in early 90's and was fired by sullivan.

Jamison- Band somewhat disolved after Too Hot,went about his solo career. Came back to the band to replace Bickler for the second time, was fired or quit after recording reach. Has publically stated his problem with sullivan.

The others( Grove, etc) mean nothing to the band and won't be added to this list, although Grove does seem to have the same "story" as the others.

The most obvious common denominator in all this is sullivan,so it reasons to think that he played a major part in the dismemberment of the band.
Has anyone EVER heard sullivan address or even admit to anything concerning past and present dismantling of the band?
Slander, just once, I'd like to hear you say that we might have a point or we might just be right about what we are talking about etc. But you won't or don't instead prefering to defend sullivan's honor to the end.....even if he didn't ask you to do so.

The last thing is this.....you say you live in the pacific northwest.......I live in Chicago.....you know Chicago right???? The home of survivor.......don't you think I'd know a little bit about the past and story about the band?

Still waiting for a refutation of Jamision's rather strong holdings in the interview last year, Axe.

There's been some bitterness, and questioning of why he trusted fs so much voiced in response to it, but so far not one contradiction or refutation.

Axe, you do know Marc's removal was already clarified by Marc.

Speaking of handing rights over to FS. JP also apparently wanted to let JJ have it. It was the "monkey wrench" as Marc said.

Actually Red...that's not true. FS explained what happened in an interview he gave. Of course it differs very much from JJ's story.

Axe, you do know Marc's removal was already clarified by Marc.

Speaking of handing rights over to FS. JP also apparently wanted to let JJ have it. It was the "monkey wrench" as Marc said.

Marcel....What did Marc say? I spoke with him after a show here and I'm curious to see if he said the samething.

Location doesn't make anyone an expert axe. If that were the case George Bush would be an expert in governing. Gimme a break. I realize you are closer to the situation (by the way I never claimed to be repeatedly) but that may actually cloud your reasoning.

And for the record you DO NOT have the right as a fan to know the personal lives performers, athletes, etc.

Firstly just to clarify, Im too far away to meet Marc. You're lucky. :D

But Im just commenting on what was said when Dave got back with the band in the latter 90's.

One, Marc said in the old board "Jim fired me"-pertaining to the time before THTS. (the reason for that, you may know better I suppose)

Second, while JJ was going around with his band (as Survivor), Marc talked about the legal matters about Survivor's name usage. I can't give you the exact quote (wished I kept the screen cap), but Marc mentioned that JP suggested to give JJ the right to use the name. This was as Marc put it "the monkey wrench" that prolonged the legal wranglings..

I hope this answers your question. :)

Anyway, that was the past. What i think is more important is that the band keeps busy as possible. They just got back from the Dominican Republic. Set list is available at the official website.

Better yet here is the set list. Not sure of the order though.

Burning Bridges,
Burning Heart
Poor Mans son
High On You,
Summer Nights ,
I can't hold back
The Search Is Over
Broken Promises
Didn't know it was love
Somewhere In America
Rockin into the Night
Eye of the Tiger

A standing ovation on Burning Heart. Eye also went down really well. Overall a great show. 8)

Marc told me the same thing....to which Jim said he had nothing to do with it. Guess it's still up in the air as to what really happened.

Never claimed to be an expert....those are your words, not mine.

You have NO RIGHT to tell me what I have the right to know or not. It is YOUR OPINION nothing more or less.
You have no more right to tell me what I can or can't do, than I do you. You'd do well to remember that.
