Axe to use one of your own adverbs...you've been bitch slapped. You were just flat out wrong. There aren't multiple number 1's! He co-wrote Tiger with Sullivan. Name the other number 1's?

Proof??? Show me the chart positions of all the stuff he wrote or co-wrote besides Eye. You've "called me out" now prove your statement.

NEITHER guy has a number #1 without the other....they BOTH have 1......it's Tiger....that's it.

Lots of other high charters, but the facts are ONE #1.....

And the "bitch slapped" comment Slander was a bit over the top my man....Axe obiously was a bit giddy in his "Peterik Love"....and didn't have all the facts....I will cut him some slack though...because Axe to Peterik is like Slander to Frankie....and that's cool....you both are loyal to who you like.....Just try to be more objective about the other guy.....facts are facts....and both guys wrote alot of hits....JP a bit more because he writes all day long and Frankie when he feels like it.....both are cool....but....BUT...when JP plays with anybody POL, Ides, World Stage, Solo he plays about half Survivor songs with ALL of these groups...so the proof is in the pudding, his MOST successful stuff was with Survivor and that was ALL co writes with FS....and I love ALL that stuff.....

JP + FS = $$$$$$

I get your point but World Stage isn't half Survivor songs (at least in the one off gigs every year). Typically he plays around 3 and that's in a 3 1/2 hour show.

Axe..your point was not about chart positions...It was about number 1's....Or do you need to be quoted again. I have proved my statement. Peterik hasn't written number 1's. He has co-written just one number with Frankie Sullivan.

Lots of ground to cover here...so here we go...
Joe....Don't have Peterik love as you call it.....He and I are friends, just like you and he were friends. Am I on the same level that you were? No. And that's fine with me.
As for slander.... my problem is quite simple...I'm tired of hearing what an upstanding, righteous citizen sullivan is and how he's the be all,end all when it comes to survivor. He joined Jim Peterik's band, pure and simple....I'm right aren't I Joe? Jim invited sullivan to join his band and his thanks was to be pushed out in an acrimonious split w/ sullivan many years later.
Now here's the part slander never sees or hears because he doesn't want to.......Due to his relationship w/ sullivan, they wrote some incredible tunes together and it's safe to say that without each other, neither would be where they are now. Having said that, if not for Jim, sullivan could very easily become a broken down guitar player looking for a gig....Jim was already successful before survivor.....sullivan was an unknown and could've possibly stayed that way. We'll never really know now will we? See slander I can give sullivan credit where it's due, slander seems to want us all to believe that without sullivan, survivor wouldn't be....maybe not now in the form that it is,but we don't know....maybe if sullivan had left things would've been the same with Jim at the helm, maybe they would be better, maybe not...we'll never know. But I do know that slander's diatrabe about sullivan keeping the band alive is very tiresome.....a person on life support, with no brain activity, is still alive. But are they really?
Joe, as you know, the average Worldstage show is what 3 1/2 to 4 hours long? The most survivor I've ever heard was 4 songs ...hardly the 1/2 the show you said. This past Feb. when Jimi was there they did....Eye, Hold back,High and Search... usually it's those 4. And like you said...that's what he's known for....you wouldn't go to a Kiss concert expecting to hear Queen would you?

Now slander......Mr Misguided slander.....nice comments about bitch slapping...guess I hit a nerve with that one huh? Afterall you saved it as a comeback....I guess imitation is the sincerest form of flattery....Thank-You I'm touched.

Now on to the #1's etc....Joe you are correct....I thought Vehicle hit #1.....it did in Chicago and #2 nationally...my mistake.
Now what charts are we using? Billboard?? Ok sounds good lets use Billboard............
The following info was culled from a book about Billboard charts til 2003, you can find it at your local Barnes and Noble.

38 Special....culled from their cd jacket also to further substanciate.........
"Hold On Loosely"...Barnes/Peterik/Carlisi.....#3 album rock chart/charted 3-2-81
"Caught Up In You"....Barnes/Peterik/Carlisi......#1 album rock chart/ charted 5-1-82"The Sound of Your Voice".....Chaunncy/Petrik/Carl/Carlisi......#2 album rock chart/charted 6-22-91

Survivor.....I believe Search hit #1 on the adult contemparary charts...5-4-85
Can't Hold Back....#1 album rock chart .....9-15-84
I've made my point...right Joe? Granted sullivan had a big part of the survivor hits....but has he written any hits outside of the petrik/sullivan songs??? Jim has and #1's at that......which is what I said to start with.
So slander....thanks for the flattery...but....well you know.

hey Axe....

I covered it in another post.....half the songs JP does individually at the shows are Survivor, and that's great by me.......not the whole show as a bunch are other guys.....I read back a bunch of posts...I want to reiterate I am not pissed, nor against JP in any way...he is 56 years old living the life he wants doing what he wants and I hope at 56 I am as well....I respect his talent, his songwriting and his tenacity at business....

Just wanted to clarify......

I was there. I haven't missed one yet. I remember you. Are you going to do anymore? That's true what you said. Survivor and Ides mostly fill his stuff. Although when he released the World Stage CD, he probably played as many of those songs.

I also hear some of the songs hit number one at some k-po-dunk in east jesus arkansas. Axe you don't need to overstate Jim's resume. The bottom line is has 1 number 1 song on billboard. And you know what? It was a great accomplishment by he and Frankie. You were wrong. Plain and simple. All your stupid smoke and mirrors will not make your statement about number 1's true. He has had one number 1 song on billboard. Enough already.

The charts I quoted are Billboard you JACKASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Billboards charts are comprised of numerous different catagories. But then a world renowned journalist like yourself would know that. Or are you so fucking stupid as to think that because Garth Brooks hit #1 on the COUNTRY charts, he never hit number 1?

God you are such a fucking tool!!! Go back into your mom's basement and light your cute little candles at the alter of worship for st.sullivan and chant your praise to your version of Alah.
I made a statement, you called me out to prove it and I did,now because you don't like the results you want to change the rules.
Why don't you ask Vana if hitting #1 on the album rock chart is less of an accomplishment . Betcha he'd give his right nut to hit #1 on that "useless,po-dunk chart".
Don't argue about things you know nothing about.

axecrew wrote:The charts I quoted are Billboard you JACKASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll keep my nuts thanks!!!

hahahaha....it is a hell of an accomplishment....Guys...let's not argue the value of ANY of their hits...that's top 40 and above...and they have their share believe me....

Great Band...Great hits, Great songs....talented players, Great songwriters (BOTH of them)....end of damn argument.....oh yea, and GREAT singers too!!!!

Red...Does Survivor have 1 number 1 hit? Yes or No. It's a very easy question to anwer. Yes Billboard has various charts but when people talk about the charts they refer to the HOT 100 period. Not the a/c chart...dance chart etc! What's next...is axe going to give me the Radio and Records chart...perhaps the Belarus or Slovakian chart? The bottom line here is that JP doesn't need his resume padded. The man is a great song writer. I just wish for once you guys would admit when you overstate the facts. Donald Rumsfeld was more accurate at stating the conditions "on the ground" then you guys.

Dude, you were wrong, demanded facts of AxeCrew, had them jammed up your nose, and then as usual, changed the target.

Jammed up my nose? I'm well aware of the rock, alternative, country, dance, ringtones charts...and yes Survivor has been on there...but THE CHART OF CHARTS IS THE HOT 100....Sorry.

I think it was a shame, Journey never had a number one song on the Billboard hot 100. What with three prolific writers. Geez.
