Well, here's my .02 worth on it. I believe the video was done in the cheapest format possible for the sake of $....all labels, including Frontier's do not have the $ to fork out for the video's like they did in the old days, and why bother, MTV, VH1, CMT,almost all of them never play videos', it's all tv reality show bullsh8t.
I think JP's voice ruined the song. He can write til the cows come home and I personally think this would be my least favorite song that I've heard so far, as I feel the production on it wasn't up to par...you couldn't understand half of what was being said, had I not been looking at the 'pictures' of the singer's, I wouldn't have had a clue...
I would have liked to seen Bobby/Toto, Mickey/Starship and especially a bit more 'real video' then the picture montage's...Mike Reno and Mickey,Bobby, all them are good friends and they would have done whatever it took to help Jimi, they are like brothers....
I thought Jimi looked good in the video but at the end, walking out with Jim's wife and getting in a....cough, hack....pt cruiser? could they not have rented a limo for an hour? I mean how long would it take to shoot that scene? beautiful house JP has and he's worked his a88 off writing hit songs, I just think he should write rather than sing...just my opinion but I don't think he's that great of a singer.
I think the concept for the song was good but I've never been a fan of singer's pretending to be actors, would have much perferred to hear this done 'live'....minus Jim Peterik's voice all over it. I also think that the crowd scene was a little 'empty' looking, I am sure there were more people there then what it looked like but when I think of crowds, go watch Totos "Live in Amersterdam" or Goo 'Goo Dolls "Live in Buffalo"....that's a concert...
I also wonder how smart it is to post a video on youtube with every song on the cd before it's released....I could see clips done for each one, but not the whole songs, I think this will hurt sales....
off my soapbox....next.....
Peace~
