I would piss myself if it was Joe lynn turner, that guy is a GOD amongst singers.. Some great fits would be him, john Cafferty, or even Mike Rutherford. Hell even mickey thomas is a good pick.. lol

I REALLY like TH....but....he does NOT fit the band nearly as well as who they chose....I probably could do the gig....but I would really need to get into road shape.....and FS sure doesn't have a year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I did the material for years with World Stage...and that was really cool....plus...I got a band ;-)

BUT....

I bow to the alter of the guy who got the gig...

Nuff said by me!!

This is all very exciting. We as fans are just dying to find out.

Ofcourse the Survivor website still insists the new single is coming out. Yep they're excited

JLT is fabulous. But no better fit for this band than Robin.

There is only 1 guy for Survivor.

I disagree. I have always felt that JLT would have been an excellent fit. Very similar to Jamison.

That makes it sound like Jamison is back. Especially since Bickler has said that it's not him.

If it is Jamison? I have to wonder. If Sullivan can keep working with Jamison after all of the legal battles and other stuff, why can't he patch things up with Peterik? I've never seen/heard Peterik ever say a bad word about Sullivan.

In business sense and just keeping the professional side of things, no egos and what not, JJ being back won't be too off. FS is a businessman so why not?

But JP is more than happy doing things they way he likes.

I don't agree. He's a bluesier/raspier/deeper toned singer.

joe your not nice! spill the beans! :) I saw Survivor this summer, first time since Robin came aboard. As good of a singer he might be and front man, he never fit in to me. If my Dave can't come back, bring on Jimi, I might actually get excited about the band again.

This is HUGE NEWS! I have to say, I just never felt Robin was a great fit for Survivor. He's a good singer, powerful voice, but it just didn't seem to fit the Survivor style. Joe Vana....I'd support you 100% in Survivor! I know that would be a dream gig come true for you my friend!

Here's my small list of singers I'd love to see in Survivor:

Mickey Thomas
Joe Vana
Jeff Scott Soto (Probably unlikely though)
And a HUGE dream...........................................STEVE FREAKIN' PERRY!!!! :D

I want to thank Robin for proudly carrying on the Survivor tradition for the past five years. He was never fully appreciated, and in my opinion never got a fair shake through no fault of his own. I thought the only way we could have judged whether Robin was a good fit or not was by hearing RECORDED MATERIAL. That never happened, and that is a damn shame. Robin was great frontman! He always treated fans well and never had a bad thing to say. What more can you ask out of the guy? I wish Robin the best in his future endeavors!

You know, you're correct and I probably shouldn't say Robin wasn't a great fit for Survivor. It would have been nice to have heard a record from Survivor with Robin on vocals. But, I am excited to hear about who the new singer is.

As am I. I won't even speculate, but I'm hoping it's someone like DB. I would like to see the band return to it's tougher and grittier sound like on Tiger and CITG.

My opinion, Survivor reunion is coming.....with both Jamison and Peterik coming back. Maybe even Ellis.

Toby doesn't make sense becasue I don't see Survivor becoming POL. Does TH really fit any better than RM? Also, if Frankie can bring Peterik back on board, I think Jimi might come back to because they get along great. My guess is they patched it up and are going to give a reunion a shot...one last shot.

My second guess is Bickler comes back. It will be either Jamison or Bickler. Especially from Andrew's comments.

Isn't there a POL album in the works? This makes no sense since Toby put out his own record out this year. Toby is an amazing vocalist, but I don't see FS wanting to go theatrical! Survivor is not Meat Loaf.

The Journey boards would EXPLODE if that happened. I think Mike Ruthorford would be a good fit as well and so would Stan Meissner. Hell get Robert Tepper, that guy sounds a lot like DB.

Robert Tepper would be interesting, but I only really know "No Easy Way Out". I can see the Dave Bickler style in his vocals though.

I would enjoy a return of Peterik and Jamison to the band. Heck I would enjoy a return of Peterik, Jamison, AND Bickler to the band, but I think that would be stretching it.
I'm just going to say it's Mickey Thomas or Steve Perry. Both are highly unlikely but would be a great conversational piece!

I know it's never going to happen, but imagine if Peterik was back in the band... as lead singer! (I rather like his voice, although I'm aware I'm in the minority).

It sounds like it's going to be Jamo, but I would still be surprised given the amount of resentment that came out on his departure (and the amount of touring he's doing as a solo artist).

A nice compromise might be Jamo, with Peterik returning to write and produce even if he's not a touring member of the band.

Mickey Thomas has history with the band, so I could see that as a possibility. Is Richard Page singing any more? How about David Carl? Eddie Money?

Not sure a female vocalist would work so I hope they haven't gone down that route!

Or maybe Frankie himself haha!

A few more off-beat ideas... (not saying all of these would work!)

Thom Griffin...
Troy Reid (reminds me of a cross between Jimi and Jimmy Barnes in places)
Chalfant (almost the lead singer back in 1984)...
Stan Bush (he's got the rasp!)
Larry Greene (Harlan Cage)
Greg Lynn Hall (101 South)
Rick Livingstone

... but I'm guessing Jamo.

That said, I would hope Jamo wouldn't go back without at least ensuring some kind of Peterik involvement. It'd be a dream to see Peterik and Sullivan writing together again for Survivor, no matter who the lead singer is.
