I would love to see Survivor with both these guys! That's awesome! A little awkward, but it looks like Jimi and Dave are having fun!

This is wonderful news :D. I always liked Bickler much better than Jamison on leads and that's not because of talent it's because I felt Bicklers vocals were truly what Survivor was all about in the very beginning-gritty, edgy, dark, street-I could go on and on. While I own Vital Signs, WSC, Reach, they are not my favorite albums. I love Caught In the Game. And Premonition is an effing gem! This is indeed awesome news, but I take the "new material" with a grain of salt. This reunion is cause to celebrate but I fear it may be too little too late.

Good God. Enough with "Take You On A Saturday" already. They have a deep catalog. Some great tunes they never play!

It all looked alittle awkward to me.
And Frankie was playing a lot of notes over what was supposed to be played. Didn't sound that "on" to me.

It was awkward, especially for the singer who was not on leads. Frankie does seem to have lost a lot of the guitar solos i loved so much on the albums. I don't know if he's just riffing but I could hardly recognize any solo in any song - that was probably more disappointing to me since I love his guitar solos in all their songs.

If they don't sieze this opportunity and release a new album with these two guys on vocals, it'll really be a shame. This would be such an ideal way to cap off Survivor's career, with an album featuring both vocalists, and with songs written to take advantage of both of their strengths.
Sadly, though, I just can't get my hopes up anymore.

Dont know how this was setup, but looks like Dave was there on stage all the time. Would've been better maybe to have him introduced each time a pre-VS songs was being played

Who know what the attendance to these shows were?

The guy who isn't singing hanging back is kinda awkward. It is glad to see Bickler back w/ Survivor although.
A lousy setlist would still keep me away. Take you on a Saturday, among others, why?
They have so many classics, Bickler and Jamison.

Take You On A Saturday might be one of my top 10 favorite Survivor songs? So, I have no problem with them playing it at most of their shows.

I really wish they would add Caught In The Game to all of their shows, however!

I don't know why they aren't playing Burning Heart? Jimi used to do it with his own band, and he would have his bass player (Jeff Adams) sing some of the higher range parts of the song. (Not that there are any truly high range vocals in the song)
If Jimi wants or needs help on the higher parts of the song, they can just have Dave sing those parts.

I was always interested in hearing Dave give it a try with Burning Heart and Is This Love.

Now that they got Dave back in the band, I wish they'd add "Runway Lights" to the setlist. That's always been among my favorites, but it always gets overlooked. In some ways, it sounds like a precursor to "Burning Heart" to me.

The Official website continues to show the band without DB. No promo photo either with DB for any of the 3 shows. Maybe that's why you are not getting any response Andrew. Then again...you shouldn't be too surprised when FS stays silent:P

well because DB is not a full time member, obviously. This looked from the beginning just like a short stint in the band for the current dates in the USA. It might not even last that long, i foresee...

Well this is an interesting development for sure...

First of all, everyone knows that i'm a Dave fanatic, so from that standpoint it's awesome to see this.

But there are mixed emotions. Everytime one of these guys go back, especially with Dave, it almost feels like the same feeling of when a friend of yours goes back into an abusive or bad relationship. Frankie has treated both Dave and JJ like an ass, so I almost hate to see them crawl back. Would be so much more excited if they were with JP.

The other thing is that it's hard to imagine that it will lead to anything more than 10 county fair dates, and will most likely fizzle out just like all of FS's empty or 'broken' promises.

On the other had, looks like they are coming near hear and with Dave in the band, I am certainly excited to see that just ONE more time.

What do you guys think?

You were the first person I thought of when I heard the news. I'm happiest for you. Let's enjoy it while it lasts. New material? Why must FS always throw that out there? Why? It's not necessary and all it does is piss fans off because we know it will NEVER happen. Anyway I've seen JJ many times on leads and have yet to see Dave. Does Survivor have anything against the West Coast? They never ever come out this way anymore. Neither does JP!

Living in Ohio, I've been more fortunate than most of you when it comes to having been able to see Survivor live. Yet, they don't come around here nearly as much as I would like. My guess is that they are more likely to play in Illinois, Indiana, Ohio and a few of the other near by states because it's easier/cheaper to travel to those states than on say the west coast?

For a number of different reasons that I won't bother getting into on here, I did not go to either the Toledo or Columbus shows that they played just last week. The nearest show to me was the Toledo show, which really isn't that far away for me. It's about an hour and a half drive for me. That was the very first show with Dave back in the band.

One of the reasons (Although there were a few other reasons) that I didn't go is that all of my friends have turned into a bunch of freaking old men who don't do shit anymore. They worry about getting their beauty sleep like little old ladies. Like one night with a little less sleep would kill them or something.

Anyway, I missed what turned out to be Dave's first show back. Ironically, one of my friends that acts like a little old lady these days, and who is a Survivor fan, has always liked Bickler a lot better than Jamison.

I am totally with you. I believe that sonwritingwise a collaboration of the two singer with JP would a lot more promising and actually realistic. JP regularly writes and publishes music, whereas FS maybe writes music or only writes about writing music and does not publish anything.

There is no label involved. Frontiers and Frankie had a falling out.

Mgmt emailed and suggested we set up a phone interview instead. Stay tuned.
