You said the question at hand is the 20 million people from dingbats and I ask how many people will watch the Soundstage show later this fall. Why don't you address that question, should be pretty simple to do?

What did Dancing with the Dingbats do for them??
How many people do you think will watch the Soundstage this fall? More than 20 million, less than 20 million?
Could the great francis sullivan put something like that together and have all those people show up? Year after year after year?
How'd survivor's tour of europe go?
Remember to back up your statements with facts where applicable.
One last thing, Knock off the cute little personal swipes at me unless you want me to make it personal also.

Once again axe. The question at hand was in response to some bs dig at FS and the band from an uninformed poster. The sad thing is you guys slam FS all the time and yet you go nuts when someone wants to defend him. Survivor didn't tour Europe. As far as what ABstand did in viewership. Propably pretty damn well considering there were few channels on the tv unlike today axe. Don't even get started on the tv subject your are out of your element. Lastly if you think Jamo's voice is what it was then you really are seeing a whole team of pyschiatrists. I do however like Jamo. I see him in concert and I will buy the new disc.

And YES....Survivor had a signature sound given to them by FS. Plain and simple. Get the hell over it. It's all over both Preomonition, EOTT, and CITG. Your rage clouds your judgement and objectivity. It's really sad.

And again you are avoiding the questions..........Put up or shut up oh great debator!!!! So we now know that in your opinion AB had a great number of viewers... probably pretty well was your quote. We'll leave out your cute little qualifier about the number of channels. So what we have is survivor probably did pretty damn well on AB,back in the day. Your words right? So how can you tell me that by playing "Dancing with the dingbats" it even compares??? Back in the days of AB you watched because your favorite band was on that day. It was one of, if not the only, way to see them back then. How many people tuned into Dingbats just to see survivor that night? How many watched on a regular basis regardless of who was playing? Since you don't want me to "go there" in regards to TV and how I'm out of my element........educate us oh great tv swami! Pull up the numbers if you have a source and post average viewership against viewership that night........I DARE YOU!!!!!
I'll be happy to give sullivan credit where it's due.....but I'll also be just as happy to point out fault where it due also and right now that's a lot easier to do.
Oh and one last thing......if Jimi sucks so bad,Why is sullivan overwhelming him with call after call to come back to survivor??? No, my source isn't Jimi either.

Great JJ had no energy and sounded like shite to boot last time i saw him. It made me long for the old days.

And when was this? When did you last see him? I saw him in Febuary and he was great, hit every note with no little tricks. I should know as I sat by the board and was looking for the hints of little tricks, there were none, it was live.....no memorex.

Good to hear. Like I said keep dancing around the campfire axe. The idol worship here is nauseating.

What have I avoided? Nothing. You quote me from like almost 2 years ago. It's hilarious. When will you sir acknowledge the many times I have been critical of Sullivan on the board? You won't will you because you knows it blows your arguments out of the water. Let me ask you sir when at all have you ever been critical of Jamison on this board? The answer is never. I remain the one with the objectivity plain and simple.

No slander you've never been critical of JJ on here (no matter how much help he might need singing.) You've never spoken poorly of any of his activities (even if he is a glorified bar tender)...You have never talked about any of his (horrible) solo albums or the small bar venues he's played...

Look, I don't give a damn about JJ...but you've slapped the guy with so many back handed-passive aggressvie compliements, that his jaw must be about to snap. Yeah, i'm critical of FS, but at least I have the nerve to do it in the open. I mean i could adopt you style and say....Sir Francis Sullivan is an upstanding, awesome, really up front dude (for a two-faced, piece of junk liar.)...But what's the point?

Listen I hate to break up the love-fest between yourself and Red but I HAVE BEEN CRITICAL of JJ on the board. Of course I have. That doesn't mean I can't be a fan does it? I have also been critical of FS although you folks never want to acknowlege that for whatever reason. If I dislike Jamison so much why have I seen him in concert and bought his stuff?

okay Slander, I'll play your silly little game...so why have you seen him and bought his stuff?

Most likely, because like any real Survivor fan who's been oppressed by Sullivan's lack of ability to do ANYTHING on a regular basis, you are starved for it. Same reason I'd probably go sit through McSurvivor, no matter how awful it truly sounds. Same reason we all have waded throught what has to be hours of senseless FS solo's in concert, the same reason we bought and even listened to Reach more than once. Same reason, we'd buy a CD and listen to Beer commericals for God's sake and even download Starbucks commericals from UTube or even try to convince yourslef that that vocal performance on DWTS was not only awful but embarrassing.

Yes Slander, I think in our own way...we all understand it.

and Red...shame on you for taking off on me...i mean, youi almost ruined our 'lovefest'...damn you...i feel betrayed...

But not as betrayed as Dave Bickler felt when FS fired his a$$ and he had to find out about it on this site...and maybe not even as betrayed as JJ was when FS refused to pay him...but probably as betrayed as JJ was when FS wouldn't even let him have a copy of the Reach album, but probably not as bad as Andrew felt with Frankie was going to get the lawyers on him for saying 'formerly of Survivor'....However, perhaps as betrayed as the fans were when FS replace JJ with a Kevin DuBrow (God rest is rock and roll soul) sound alike, uncapable of properly singing any of the songs we love.

But who knows, pretty darn hurt...

Wow, you must really have ADD..... What have you avoided? How about my question about the Soundstage show this fall and how many viewers it'll have? Or what about the one where I ask if sullivan could put something like that together, and who would show up artist wise, and do it year after year after year.
As for you being critical of sullivan......I'll acknowledge it when you "really" do it....to complain about lack of dates, or lack of info doesn't cut it......we all complain about those things. How about complaining about how he's single handedly destroyed the band as a viable entity. Or how 'bout the fact that he's chased off everyone good associated with the band. Or maybe that he's willing to sue anyone ,everytime for stupid shit(like Andrew for instance), then lie about it! 3 people have left or been fired from that band and ALL 3 have complained about the same problem....frankie sullivan. But I'm sure in your mind it's only a coincidence or they're just jealous.
Why would someone sell their part of a once highly successful partnership? To get out of a bad situation.....'cause they knew it was sinking.
As for your "quote" of 2 years ago and it being hilarious....no more hilarious then you trotting out a 2 year old tv appearance as evidence that the band is still active and achieving great things. If you can bring up the past as evidence, why can't I?

Fair enough. It was in response to someone claiming that FS and the band would only play small venues. Once again though, I know it's hard to admit that JJ has never had a prime time network audience with 20 milliion plus people. Can you just admit it and be done with it. As far as soundstage I have no idea. And stop your bs about JJ's world tour. You act lke it's huge amount of dates. Listen I'm glad JJ is back. I like the guy. He's got a good voice. But you are being dishonest by acting like this is the old JJ. I will buy the new album but it would make unfair for me to expect VS. So don't act like it's 1985. As for why people left the band who the hell knows. They are grown men. JP and FS had a good run. Hell more than most. As with all stories no doubt the truth lies in the middle.

Yeah poor Dave and JJ. Just helpless infants in the world of business. Can we move on to 2008 already. Let's give DB and JJ and little more credit for being men. In Dave's case a REAL MEN OF GENIUS! By the way Robin kicks ass in concert. It's different but at least he doesn't stand around like some has been.

I must say that Robin has a nice hold on TSIO in particular. JJ, DB and Robin all have their own take and I like all of their versions.

:)

Dare I say even Burning Heart is even more grittier than the original. Im not talking about vocals alone, the whole package of it 8)

And once again you trot out some 2 year old tv appearance as your response. Nobody ever said Jimi has played for 20 million people on tv. Nobody has made it an issue or point of contention, nobody but YOU that is.
As for Jimi's "World Tour" as you call it. Do you deny that he has more dates booked in the year 2008 than survivor does? Why was survivor's tour of europe cancelled? Not the survivor spin job,but the real reason.
Nobody said Jimi was in 1985 form, but you make it sound like he can't sing without soundboard help, hell you said it in a post in this thread.

Now as for survivor and the size of the venues......where exactly are they playing? What size are the venues?

Edit: I looked it up and they have 7 total dates as of now. Of those 4 of them are city festivals and 1 is a couny fair and 1 is an amusement park. Not exactly Wembley as you are so fond of saying.
Now to anticipate your next argument....No Jimi isn't playing Wembley either, but since he is a lesser artist to the great almighty survivor,he shouldn't be expected to play venues that are comparable to survivor.
In case you are wondering,I do know why that tour of europe was cancelled....both reasons.

Isn't this sort of like acknowledging that JJ had the theme song to one of the MOST POPULAR TV SERIES of all time? Baywatch was reaching MILLIONS worldwide every week for years, not to mention syndication.

And just because I am a stickler for details sometimes, DWTS was not two years ago. Two SEASONS ago but just last year...

After Billions of people able to listen to Im Always Here, what was it charts ranking? Just wondering.

That would be a big goose egg. Having said that I'll bet JJ loves going to his mailbox to get the royalty check! Hopefully he has the rights to the song.

Higher than the chart ranking of EOTT AFTER the performance on DWTS...

I don't think EOTT on DWTS was released in the charts.

Actually I think EOTT does quite well on I-TUNES. I don't think the same can be said for 'I'M ALWAYS HERE'.
