Survivor Merchandise!?!?

Postby survivorfan2005 » Thu Sep 22, 2005 6:12 am

One of the main reasons I don't think survivor is as big as they COULD be is because of their publicity and they only have limited items for sale on there site. Therefore, I believe that in order for their new album to be a complete success and top the charts is that they should increase publicity a whole lot more than it is now. So, I am asking everyone what kind of merchandise would you like to see made so that you can show support for the greatest rock band ever?

Some new 2005 shirts would be great, of course. Also, wish there were some more variety for us to purchase for ourselves, as well as gifts. Here are a few cool ideas. Obviously, I don't expect all but have seen some of these on other sites and wish Survivor would give us the opportunity to support them even more.
Survivor coffee mug .....(show that off at work)
Survivor in 2005 poster
8x10 promo band photo
Survivor bandana
Survivor keychain
Survivor Rockin' wall calendar
New Survivor Music Video DVD's
Survivor guitar pick (for all us wanna be Survivor guitarists)

To really blow our minds, how about opening up the vault and offering past merchandise from the 80's and 90's. Promo photos, t-shirts, keychains, posters, pins, etc. Now that would be an incredible way to let all us Survivor fans involved.

All of which takes time and money to produce.

I don't know the financial situation of the band, but given that they haven't released an album in years, I wouldn't think there is a large slush fund of cash hanging around to be used on new merchandise.

I can understand that it may take money and time to produce merchandise, but hey, they could go on some TV shows and perform like Letterman or Leno, or even Conan o'brian, I'm sure that would boost their publicity, especially for the new CD.

Hey, I just got an email back from Jamo, after I asked him if he'd do a late night talk show like letterman to help promote the new cd. He told me "thanks for the idea, since we've gotton a break from the tour we've been kind of relaxing as of late, you can see that on both my and the band's website (we'll update is soon though). However, we are currently working on a spot on "Late Night With David Letterman" to promote the new cd. Eventhough, no date is set and the gig isn't confirmed yet, we are taking other methods of promotion. One method we're going to try to utilize along with/ or without the letterman spot is a tv ad for the cd. I assure you that this cd will have more publicity than any of the other previous albums released. The Survivor fan's deserve the very best, because you guys are the greatest fans."

Hearing from the man behind the music, gives me more and more anticipation of the new cd. I did get to here the "FMS" song with Jamo on vocals that is for sure going to be on the cd...It's amazing... What do you guys think?

Haven't heard it or any of the songs from those sessions in the early-mid 90s. Want to big time.
Good to hear from Jamo....

Red, you should have told me to get Ultimate in the first place. I like the three tunes you mention. Will listen more over the weekend.

Alright, we're doing good here.
If you can dig them up look for the following album cuts: Rythm Of The City (Too Hot Too Sleep record '88), Oceans and Can't Let You Go (When Seconds Count record '86) and The One That Really Matters (Eye/Tiger record '82).

BTW, I can't get Schon/Hammer Here To Stay outa my cd player right now. Way too good.

Oh, yea, about 7 times......

great record. I'm Down carries it for me.

Also, 1 final note: the best song on Eye: Hesitation Dance. Bickler at his Perryesque finest.

now that's one I haven't seen before. I hated those older concert t's. They put large on the tag but the fit more like small!!! They were never true sizes. A friend of mine has a black one with a tiger head on front from EOTT tour. I want that one! I've never seen it on ebay. I hate face shirts, shirts with group photos on them or pictures of their faces. I like logo shirts or just the name of the band on it with lots of print.
