I'm a huge fan of Dave Bickler's voice. Does anyone know if he has any projects going (other than the real men of genius)? I'd love to hear more from him.

Unfortunately I can not answer your question. But I have a few of my own.

Do any of you have one of the "Real Men Of Genius" CD's, and if so can you please tell me how I might be able to get a copy?

Do any of you have a copy of Dave Bickler's first album with the band "Jamestown Massacree?"

Also, I know that in the past Dave Bickler had begun working on a solo album, and I would like to know if any of you have ever gotten any demos or anything from it?

Dave Bickler rocks...best voice in rock n' roll ever!....I did read a recent interview where he said he was still working on a solo project. You can go to the Jamestown Massacre website and download some of the stuff with him.....

Thanks, it's great to hear!

I love Dave's singing too!

Like many people I was first introduced to Survivor and Dave Bickler by hearing Eye Of The Tiger in Rocky III.
I was only 10 years old at the time, but I had been a huge Rocky fan since I was about 7 years old.
As soon as I was hearing EOTT for the first time two things jumped out at me, the first was the awesome guitar riff that I was hearing, and the other was this guy with a little bit of an unusual voice in some ways, but still great at the same time!

I remember when I first found out that Dave Bickler was no longer in Survivor I was very dissapointed because I was sure that the new guy would never be as good.
To tell you the truth I wound up slightly preferring Jimi Jamison, and he is my #1 favorite singer to this day, but Dave Bickler remains in my top 5.

When Bickler first came back to Survivor in 1993 I was very happy to have him back and recording new matterial! The thing that sucks is that except for the FMS demos the only new songs we got from Dave were the two from the greatest hits album, and even then he does not sing any lead vocals on You Know Who You Are.
The only other song that I know about that he would wind up singing some lead vocals on was that song on the Jillian CD.

Even though Jamison is my favorite singer I was still kind of sad when I found out that Bickler was out again and Jamison was back in.
My dream is that someday both Jamison and Bickler will share lead vocals in Survivor, although I know it will never happen.

My brother hates Dave Bickler's voice and constantly rips on him, and I hate many of my brothers favorite singers.

I have a couple of friends who have a slight prefference for Dave Bickler over Jimi Jamison though.

I will share my thoughts on Dave VS Jimi live on that thread some time soon.

Dave is my favorite singer of Survivor too. I grew up listening to him and I love all the albums with him as lead. I would have to say VS is my favorite JJ album but I don't care for the followups, other than Reach but again, I heard several of those songs with Dave singing them and prefers Dave's version. I really miss him being in the band and went through a major withdraw when JJ came back. I didn't know there was a Jamestown Massacre site so I will have to go and check it out. I'm with you, I would be in heaven if they both could sing with the band. Instead of Frankie doing songs, I'd much rather hear Dave and JJ doing the songs, but that's my opinion. I also would like to see JP back writing songs with Frankie, that's where the magic was.

I've listened to the clips on their site,I really like the 2 first albums and Bickler is the better singer hands down.
Jim jamison isn't bad either but Bickler is better in my book.Allthough on the 4rd album his voice seemed to have worsened a little.

After the Eye Of The Tiger album but before Caught In The Game Dave Bickler had to have surgery to remove nodules from his throat due to strain from doing so many shows on the EOTT tour, and that is probably why is voice does not sound quite as good on CITG. Fortunately Bickler has sounded back to full streangth since at least 1993 when he rejoined Survivor.

Yep. Saw that sometime back. But with regards to Dave present state of affairs, I think he's become reclusive. Something happened after there was another forum which had contact with him and suddenly there was some bad blood. Don't take my word on that though.
