I have the cd but not the dvd. I really enjoyed it however. Jim Peterik's vocals are in great tune with Toby's. I especially liked "Sound of Home" and the new studio tracks were pretty great too. I talked to Toby via myspace yesterday and he told me that POL are going to start touring here in the US. Anyone know anytihng about this?

I haven't heard anything about a tour but I would love to see them in concert.

I have DVD version and enjoy it very much. I think Toby is one of the best AOR vocalists at the moment and what is even better like Survivorfan said his vocals fit amazingly well with Jim´s. Some behind the scenes material from festival or from studio would have been nice addition for DVD.

Great, I'm in Massachusetts. There's no way I can go to Chicago.

Not trying to be mean here but just wondering if JP left Survivor, why does he do Survivor songs. He's got enough backlog of tunes to choose from before his Survivor days. I know he wrote the tunes but playing Survivor songs that got famous just doesn't make moral sense to me. oh well.

He wrote the songs so he's entitled to sing them. You have a strange idea of moral sense if this is something that truly upsets you.

And I think most of the people who go to see POL concert expect to hear couple of Survivor tunes so it would be disappointment for them if none was played.

JP will sing survivor and 38 songs with the Ides of March. He's probably just wanting to keep POL a separate deal.

I maybe wrong but I remember JP left Survivor for GOOD. Wanting to do something else. Yet he takes SURVIVOR tunes, that's not doing something else, is it? Just thinking. Case in point Robert Plant, (then again I might lose this debate ha ha!) left Zep and did his OWN stuff. Not sure whether he plays Zep music on his concerts.

This is PROBABLY the reason. So its financial is it? Does JP sing the tunes? I know he did a few released in Survivor's S/T. Don't tell me Toby performs the Survivor tunes? Sorry not from the U.S. Let me know...anyone? (I will not make a issue out of it just curious).

Anyway, I won't be going to it. If he left Survivor, he's got plenty of tunes as I said in his backlog that he has written or Survivor did not release officially. He's welcome by me to play those. Oh and any tune he wrote HIMSELF alone;the one that really matters (what a classic!).

Well, in fact I talked to JP via his myspace 2 days ago and he said that he is working w/ Toby on some old Survivor demos such as some of the fms ones like "no boundries" "love we never made" "jessica" and "Someone Else's Sleepless Nights" he did mention these songs specificly.

He said that he was going to try to plug them into some of his US POL concerts. Whether he will or not is still debateable but I was thrilled to have him name those songs. I really enjoyed them, however I dont know how Toby will sound on the tracks since they were written for bickler.. It would be interesting huh?

I like your points here. Those were unreleased Survivor tunes and that would be fine with me. More power to tunes that were meant for Survivor. Wish them well on those. Also being that DB in all likelyhood will not return to Survivor, wouldn't be concerned if the songs he did with them were indeed released by Toby on vocals. Then again, im the only one alone on NOT playing Survivor tunes in concert unless they were fronted by the BAND who are officially Survivor, so it doesn't matter anyway.

I've just discovered the DVD PoL live in Belgium last week and I think there is a technical problem on the 5.1 track during the concert. All the sound goes on the right front speaker!!!
Thankfully we've the Stereo track!
Do you have the same problem?

Jim has Toby singing mostly like that all to familiar 80's power singer with no soul to it or feel. I think the kid's got talent but Jim's had a history with blowing out great singers by making them sing ridiculously high all the time.

Toby IMO isn't a good live singer at least not yet. There "Live In Belgium" was too around 300 people not the over 15,000 they reported. and if you liked it great. but it wasn't live, most if not all the vocals and alot of the playing was re-cut or re-dubbed in the studio and thats a fact!!

Sound of Home is a good tune probably Jim's best on all 3 POL releases and part of the melody he "borrowed' from a demo he did back in the 90's so...suffice it to say he's not really written really anything fresh or new in about 10/11 yrs (the 38 Resolution songs were good) that was decent to even good IMHO.

They won't tour (POL) they are a newer MR band and none of there albums have done very well even on the MR scale to warrant a tour of any kind. The destiny Stone didn't do well even for the meager sales or MR so, hopefully for JP and TH this new one will sell better for them and they will get some offers to do some shows and not just a Jim Peterik and friends and here's 2 or 3 songs from POL.

There fans would luv to see them live Im sure. Hopefully they can do that.
