Another Rocky Thread. Survivor listed on Soundtrack

Postby Slander » Sun Oct 08, 2006 12:53 pm

Guys,

These tracks were just put on imdb. I can confirm, that Bill Conti, Frank Stallone, Natasha Bedingingfield, and DJon are on the soundtrack. I've already checked Djon web page. Survivor is the only person or group not confirmed. I'm pumped. I think this actually going to happen. Things are checking out. Marie's theme is for the character Marie in the new film. Marie was the little girl in Rocky 1 who the rocky tried to mentor. Remember? Anyway let's hope this is accurate.

Here is ROCKY BALBOA SOUNDTRACK:

1. Natasha Bedingfield - "Still Here"
2. Bill Conti - "Going The Distance"
3. Survivor - "Fire Makes Steel" ( i can picture this being a work out song when rocky gets ready for his major fight catchy tune.
4. The Rocky Orchestra - "Gonna Fly Now"
5. Vince DiCola - Theme
6. Survivor - "Reach"
7. D Jon - "Raw"
8. Bill Conti - "The Final Bell"
9. D Jon feat. Frank Stallone - "Get Up"
10. Bill Conti - "Philadelphia Morning"
11. Marie's Theme
12. Frank Stallone - "Take You Back"
13. Bill Conti - "Fanfare For Rocky"

Fire Makes Steel and Reach are perfect for this movie.....this needs to happen even if it means dubbing McCauley over Jamo.

FYI, I've seen the official teaser poster. Stallone from behind atop the art museum steps in the sweatshirt and longshoreman's hat with the gloved right fist raised as snow is falling. Black and white....

very cool.

the tagline, however, is a different matter.

I'm really excited about it. You know I prefer Robin's version of Fire Makes Steel anyway.

did you see it on tv? or the internet? I haven't seen any advertisements on tv yet. I know sometimes they will show teasers at the movies but I haven't been to a movie for a looooooooooooong time!

The teaser poster (only talking about the poster or onesheet here) is on the official rocky balboa blog.

actually, it would be more appropriate to have Dave's FMS, since he made Eye so big in the older Rocky and this one is suppose to be similar to the first ones, or so I'm told. JMHO

Well, to be fair Jamo's voice w/ Burning Heart helped make IV as big a hit as III.

Burning Heart is a classic. I tell you what I will take Marc Droubay singing. I just want them on the soundtrack.

Did Dave ever do a version of Burning Heart? By the way without question FMS was written with Dave in mind. Does anyone have an uninterrupted version of the song with Dave on vocals. Mine has a big break in it.

Awe gee the things we have to do for Survivor fans! LOL! JK, here you go!

You know, I don't think I've heard Dave do BH at his shows, they would only do the small intro then go into another song. It's been so long though, can't remember.

Agreed ('cept the Droubay thing). The Jamo/Dave/or a new McCauley version will do. Long's it's in the movie.

yeah, mostly rap... that's mostly all you hear nowadays, that's why I try to keep a good fanbase on my radio station. People who actually enjoy the last of what's left from the good music of yesterday. I mean, how can you have Rocky w/out survivor? it's like having the internet with no pc monitor. man, this country is going downhill, anyone else agree or like to comment?

Damn right it´s a big disappointment if there isn´t going to be Survivor song on Rocky. Maybe Sly doesn´t want to include material by line-up that is no more.

absolutely

even sly fans don't want Survivor back with rocky !

i just can't understand them...

Rocky would not be Balboa without Survivor !

Fire Makes steel is a pure Rocky Track...Hope sly will fix and include survivor...there's still Time !

Yeah, someone should talk some sense to him. He should be told of the fact how Journey´s popularity is making big revival at the moment so it´s a matter of time when some other bands of the same genre could be making same kind of revival. It seems Sly´s business-nose is not in it´s old form.

Hey lets not get so negative here. Survivor could be ont he soundtrack and not in the movie. Don't forget that happens sometimes. Remember sweetest victory by Touch from Rocky 4. Not in the movie but on the soundtrack. Eye of the Tiger was on Rocky 5 soundtrack but not in the movie. Also I'm tired of hearing all these people who say they've seen the movie. That's nonsense. Hmm I wonder what tracks Robin and Frankie could have been recording? Let's stay positive.

i just can't tell you how i feel now...

I just can't believe sly is not taking a track like "fire makes steel" ...it's just nonsense to me

Rocky III and IV was pure energy because of Survivor...

hope we will have better news soon...

strange that survivor is not talking about it also...

ps : eye of the tiger was not on the "rocky V soundtrack"

Sorry I made a typo. Eye of the Tiger does not appear in Rocky 4 but it is on the soundtrack. I think people should sit tight. Once again I'm tired of the idiots who "claim" they have seen the film. What a joke.

If they saw it it was prolly a "rough cut" without editing and limited, if any, scoring and and other music.

That said, I'm becoming increasingly resigned to the fact the Survivor's lack of proactivity in approaching the production company/Sly is going to leave them out of the sdtk.
