Survivor members and other bands

Postby bomes » Tue Oct 17, 2006 3:58 am

Hi!

Do you know some songs/albums of other bands in which Survivor members are involved as musicians?

I have the self-titeld "Heart"-album (early 80s). Frankie Sullivan is mentioned in the credits. He plays the guitar solo on "Nobodys home" (and you hear this if you know it!) and additional guitar on "Nothin at all".

And Jim Peterik with background vocals on 38 Specials "Resolution". He (co-)wrote a couple of very good songs on this album (like "Fade to blue")!

Yeah, there's Marc in Wishing Well with Greg Leon and he is also going to be featured in the upcoming Greg Leon project.

Marc and Stephan were in a project together called Club Med. Marc always told me he would get me a copy and never did.

Frankie and Dave did Jillian's solo project. Jillian is a christian singer and somebody on here said she was Dave's wife but I beg to differ. That is a new one on me. Anyway, Frankie and Dave did some co-writting and Dave and I think Frankie did some singing. I have the tape and it's been awhile since I looked at it.

Frankie was involved in robin's solo cd Business as usual and did all the guitar on and I believe did some writing. Someone made me a copy of this so I don't have the notes.

Frankie also played guitar and co-wrote a song on Edgar Winters cd called they only come out at night.

If I can think of more i'll post it.

Kevin Lee

In 1993, Frankie Sullivan as associate producer worked on Kevin LEE & The Lonesome City Kings "restless" cd (MCAD-10707) a very good release which remains my favourite Kevin Lee's album.

This album sounds like Bryan Adams early albums (when he was still working with Jim Vallance) and i think the title "restless" and can make thinking about BA "reckless".

The Kevin' band played very well, Jim Peterik co-write one song "time alone" on which Frankie is playing guitar. Frankie made backing vocals on 5 songs.

Kevin wrote or co-write every songs. He made 3 others cd since on small labels.

Jimi Jamison is called in his bio "the fourth member of ZZ Top". But I have no idea what songs/albums he was involved.

Robin McAuley surely worked with a lot of bands. I own the Far Corporation album "solitude" (from 1994). He's the lead singer of some tracks, also a "Stairway to heaven"-cover with Robin's voice is on this album.

Frankie and Jim P produced/wrote/played on a quasi-religious album by a Chicago artist named Jillian (I think). I got the album but wasn't impressed enough to give it a second listen. Anyone else get this one?
