Burning Bridges

WHAT a song.
Always liked it but now it's absolutely leaping out at me as very close to a Survivor masterpiece. Dark, moody, heavier than hell and maybe Jimi Jamison's most menacing, aggressive, confident vocal which is saying something for a guy with that body of vocal work.

And it's mesmerizing no matter WHO the singer live. The Dave cover, the Robin cover....the song just resonates.

The lyrical message is intriguing, too.

I wish Droubay and Ellis, especially heat-seeking Droubay's drums had been there for this recording on THTS.

Couldn't agree more. One of my favourite Survivor tracks. Totally brilliant.

It's just a nasty song, BB.
The message of "I've done it other peoples way and it ain't working out, I'm gonna roll MY way"

Sullivan with the dirty guitars...

Love both Dave and Robin live versions, especially the '06 one w/ McCauley on vox and Droubay opening it with those drmatic TTTHHHUUUUMMMMMMPPPPPSSSSS! on the kit..

just a badass tune.

I love the chorus it just is haunting...and rocks....

*You can call out my name but I won't return
I'm a fugitive of love and this heart's been burned
Burnin' bridges behind me
You can follow me down but it's plain to see
I'm a victim of the burn and it's third degree
Setting bridges on fire*

Right on, Eye my man, shit I'm gonna rip this cd out right now and flip to this song, I'm in the MOOD.

"Burning bridges behind me!" what a tune.
