Cobra : First Strike

Postby montyollie » Sun Mar 04, 2007 12:37 am

Well, I finally got Cobra's "First Strike" in the mail. I got it from Sweden on eBay! $40 but anyway.

I'm listening to it right now, and I must say, I don't think I like it. I know I love Jimi's voice and I loved Empires, but it's kind of proof positive that Sullivan/Peterik had a very distinctive sound that I really really love combined with Jimi's crystal vocals.

I'm about halfway into the album and I have some housework to do, so I'll give it a full listen. I know sometimes stuff does grow on me. But so far, it's not thrilling me.

always like the song I've been a Fool Before and What Love is.

The Rockers were very average.

Its worth getting,

I drove throught Memphis last January on a cross country road trip, and it stands out as having the WORST drivers I encountered in the US. I am a pretty patient driver but I lost my temper a couple of times due to the absolute disregard of the rules of the road by seemingly *every other driver*. LOL

That's what I remember about Memphis -- Graceland, Beale St. and those infernal drivers!! Oh yeah, and my GPS unit lost her ever-lovin' mind in Memphis. Couldn't navigate out of a wet paper bag.

If you have seven minutes to kill and are hard up for something to do, here's a home movie I made while in Memphis... http://youtube.com/watch?v=ZxYWuMiZeDo -- brace yourself, it's pretty amateur. I'm Jo, my travelling companion is Tracey. :)

240 in Memphis has been under construction for 10 years. there has been some changes that would throw GPS off. Driving this morning and a driver comes over into my lane, no blinkers, I was blowing the horn too. Good thing there was no car in the lane to my left or there would have been a wreck. Hate driving into Memphis-ERIC
