You are to funny ! It was the 1st time I have ever been to Club BB at Foxwoods and it was FANTASTIC !!!!!! A very intimate setting and Jimi Jamison's Band without a doubt ROCKED THAT HOUSE ! They did a number of Survivor tunes Burning Heart, Can't Hold Back, Is This Love, Elvis's CC Rider which would have made the King proud, Rock Steady, it was a killer set that included All Right Now and When the Heart Takes Control which is still playing in my head it was great ! The guys he has put together Pete Mendillo, Scott Sudbury, Hal Butler and Dave Smith on Bass mesh so well and you can tell Jimi is having a great time up there with them. Jimi being the classy guy that he is stayed after the show to sign autographs and talk to everyone. I have photo's on my MySpace www.myspace.com/sherylannrob if you want to see my pics. I was lucky enough to meet Jimi, Pete and Scott and I can't say enough about their talent or the time they take out for their fans.

NOW JJ's doing Burning Heart again.
Wouldn't have anything to do with Rocky 6 raking 75 mil would it, now? :P
Better late than never....song should never be out of the setlist be it Survivor's or his.

Sheryl: Glad to hear the place was was rocking.

Despite the breakup, vibes seem decent among the factions. Could we fantasize about a show with Survivor as headliner and Jamo as the opener?

As the kids in the blogosphere say...

SQUEEEE!!!

I am soooooooooooo insanely jealous!!! LOL Those pictures are fantastic! What an intimate setting!! The concert I'm going to (I found out today) is a freakin' biker rally in Texas! HAHA! You really drew the long stick living so near to that concert. That's the one I would have loved to see. I like a small venue like that!

YOU HUGGED JIMI!!

Okay I'm going to cut it out with the exclamation points now. But it will be hard.

!!

Your myspace says you are 5'1" -- in that one pic where Jimi is hugging you, he looks to be about your height. Is that right? I know he's a shorter guy, but I've been curious how short. Not that it matters. I adore him no matter what.

Okay, I'm going to shut up now. This is the only forum I act like a TOTAL fangirl in. I mind myself in the rest of my life. HAHAHA!

Congrats on going!!!

Nah...I figure Jamo's at LEAST 5'9.

That seems right. I met him a few years back when he was with the "Voices of Rock" tour. He was super quiet, and very laid back. He said something like "I'm in this other band, and I'm gonna do a song from an album we put out in 1984" and rolled into "I Can't Hold Back" (which he nailed). The guy is SOOOO underrated.

LOL ! Jimi is definitely taller than me but my feet probably weren't touching the ground when it was taken ! Thank you about my pics my husband being the great man he is got me an SLR a week before the show so I could go snap happy. Red that wouldn't be my fantasy to be honest, he has put together a great bunch of guys who respect each other's talent and have a great time up there and those great vibes feed down to the fans. I don't know if you were joking when you said that ! I am just happy for him because he deserves the best.

 8) Now that is priceless because you knew the entire place had to erupt when they figured out what he meant. That's awesome.

Story in a similar vein....I'm at a Foreigner show on Lou Gramm's last tour w/ the band and first encore Gramm intro's the song by saying "Here's a little thing Mick pushed me to work up during soundcheck tonight, I bareley remembered it and I think you'll feel the same"

The opening key strains of Gramm's Midnight Blue plays and 1,500 people go nuclear at the same time.

Foreigner ain't Foreigner without Lou. He did kind of struggle in 1999, but that was two years after his brain tumor surgery. He sounded a lot better on some boots I've heard from the past couple of summers.

I think those of us who post on this board should live it up this summer and go see all our favourite bands in honor of Brad. Rock on forever, brother.

WORD!

Fuck, I'm driving to Texas from Canada to see Jimi. Haha okay, that's NOT why I'm driving, but I'm going four hours out of my way in either direction to see him. I simply cannot believe how alive and high I've been feeling since I got back into this music of my youth. I want to feel this way forever.

Definitely going to see more concerts this year, too. Meat Loaf on March 20th and whatever else I can do this summer. RIP Brad. For sure!!!!

It appears Jimi's band is different than the one I saw him tour with this past August. I think the drummer is the same. Good decision Jimi because the band you were touring with sucked last year.

Hey Sheryl

Glad you had a good time. Haven't heard Jamo since the 90's.

Don't think you will see Survivor and Jamo on the same stage General.
Did you see Jimi's lastest comment on his myspace.
www.myspace.com/jimijamison
I am reprinting here exactly incase his new webmaster takes it down.

FYI
Re: Sullivans statement on Survivor myspace which
read "When we decided to replace Jamison..."
They REPLACED nobody. Barry Dunaway and I
-QUIT- the band because the live musicianship was at
best-embarrisinly SUB PAR.

I guess all things come to the surface sooner or later.

Lark, whereabouts on the site??

But I did find this gem:

Calender Date:
Survivor will perform live on ABC' S “Dancin' With The Stars” on April 3rd. No plans to dance lol!! but we will be performing
“Eye Of The Tiger” to some 64million viewers.
Tune in and be one of them.

More live dates continue to come in for the year ahead so watch this site or Paradise Artists.com for up to date info.

Lots of your favourite songs and mine added to the set this time around with maybe an unplugged set included also.
The band is fired up and ready to go at it and can't wait for you all to come along for the ride.
Finally I hope you all had a great “St. Patrick's Day” I know I had.
See U all soon
Luv U guys
Robin

Charlie,

Where abouts was this comment on JJ's MS ? You know what I am glad he posted that ! What was the point other than taking the low road for FS to post that on Survivor's MS ?? I mean both have moved on at least Jimi has and only a sore loser would post such a thing. A person can only take so much I don't blame Jimi for posting that.

Hi Sheryl:

Guys, I'm on your side. Been a big Jamo fan for a long time.
Saw that notice at the bottom of all the Bio print on the right hand side.
I agree with you. When the split happened, no one really knew the whole story.
Don't know if we ever will...but glad Jimi is finally setting the record straight.
Never did like FS but Marc is a great person. Met him a couple times.

You saw Jimi.....how is he really doing?

Sheryl:

Jamo changed his statement. Put it at the top now.
He dropped that Barry Dunaway quit ( I wondered about that)
He sounds mad at FS.
If you talk to Jamo find out what's going on. Let us know.

I just knew he wasn't kicked out! He quit! There was no love, never saw it! He was just doing a job, cause he needed one. Actually, I think there was more to it, but none of us will ever know.

Wonder what happened to jimijamison.com?

My guess is he felt it irrelevant with his myspace site. I'm looking forward to Survivor performing on Dancing with the Stars. That's hardly like performing in an airplane hangar. I wonder if Jimi wishes he could get that kind of exposure. We'll see.

Frankie tried to put a good face on things in his interview with Andrew. Does anyone remember Jimi's interview. Why didn' he come clean? Just curious. He was very evasive. Why didn't he say he had quit? He also ripped some of the songs in the interview. How is that helping hope promote Reach? Why wasn't Jimi honest?

Slander I would rather someone be evasive, then stand there with a smile on there face sugar coating everything for the sake of publicity. I sent FS an email about the "replaced" comment on both his and Survivor MS never received a reply from him not that I am surprised, I will say the lady Mary who handles his MS is a nice lady.

Does Andrew read this forum? Andrew, when you interviewed Frankie and Jimi, was there more to it than what you transcribed? Just curious!

from Jimi site..."Other projects that lay ahead are with his ex-Survivor band mate, Jim Peterik who wrote 95% of all the songs ever recorded by the old Survivor band. Jimi will hookup with Jim and World Stage for dates in Europe this year. "

That's great!!

Maybe sometime they will do a rendition of Tiger with Jim, Jimi, Toby and Dave :)

Would be nice

I'm sure it's a matter of time that Jim will try to invite Frankie on one of his world stage..
I'm pretty sure they will work or performed at least one tine again together.
