Can we all agree? It was a triumph last night. They sounded terrific. Kudos to Frankie, Robin, Marc, Chris, and Billy. Way to tear it up in front of 20 million viewers. Can't wait until the new album.

It was Lypsync..

It was the the same version from the single released on Itube with Robin on vocals.
Frankie was not playing live.

Okay now that we got the obligatory negative out of the way, it was still an outstanding effort by the band. Everyone looked great. Great response from the crowd! Survivor plays in front of 20 million tv audience. Sorry Frankie haters bash away but this time you lose. I can't wait for the record! We do embark on a new Survivor.

Well the performance was ok for a Live show like dancin' with the stars.

But I'm sure that Frankie wanted really to play the song live (in the style he used to play it with solos).. and not to use the song as playback and to do lypsinc.

Only Robin's microphone was on.. Marc, Billy, Chris and Frankie were doin'g lypsinc..
I'm sure it's on the demand of the ABC producers of the show.

I'm sure Frankie wanted to play it the real way.

Holy naysaying Falcon!

Yeah, I'm going to agree with Slander. That was awesome. I was so pleased to see them rock the house and so pleased to see the crowd go wild like that. I fast forwarded through the Ciara and Josh Groban performances, but I don't think the crowd went *THAT* wild after they sang. LOL

I think EOTT is one of those songs in everyone's subconcious and you immediately get that excited feeing in your soul when you hear it, like Rocky Balboa can do ANYTHING. I found myself getting right into the performance, forget the awesome Paso Doble that was going on in front of them.

Great stuff.

I forgot, I missed it.
So Robin sang live but the instrumentations were not live? Weak.

Come On JOPA. Aren't you the same guy that LOVED those crappy Lypsync performances by Jamison on SOLID GOLD in the 80's? Calling Rex Smith, Andy Gibb! Let's be excited for the band.

Streaming video and blogs are blocked by a net-nanny from my place of work, so I don't know if this link has been updated or not yet, and I can't check. But I live and die by this guy's site... it's the clearing house for all things DWTS. Check to see if he's got the link updated:

I Don't see it on there yet. JoePa, nothing WEAK about it.....it's all part of television.....it may have had to be recorded because of the dancing.....don't jump to conclusions. It was a great performance. You didn't watch it so don't judge.

You are so right Silver. It was a fun performance. Robin clearly wasn't lypsyncing. Frankie wasn't playing but I don't care. It's not like I've never seen him play the song live. I hope this is a big step for the band. It's great press. It's hard to top an audience of 20 million. All the Frankie haters must be going nuts.

Guys, I agree it was good exposure. I'm not looking for a Jimi vs Frankie angle to it all, Slander. Peace.

Red good to have you aboard! Now let's get the album recorded. SurvivorFan2005 says definitely this year. I hope it really cooks. NO MORE BALLADS! I've had Reach on the shelf for months. I only have Talkin Bout Love on my IPOD! I want melodic rockers with hooks. Can I get an amen!

It's Survivor, there's an obligation for at least 1 ballad, but I'd love like hell as on THTS they keep it to 1 ballad.

I wanna hear INNOCENCE OF LOVE! That's my fav off the demos. I think Robin could do that song pretty good. He's kinda got that raspy rough voice similar to Dave's at times. I know it's not a new song but rerecorded it would be. You know I DVR'd the DWTS last night and watched it like 10 times this morning.....Robin is a great replacement! Excellent front man! He had some very large shoes to fill and he's doing a good job.

I don't have it yet. Have sampled a song. Do you guys think this is what Survivor will sound like? Also I think they should incorporate some of Robin's popular stuff. Frankie may not like that but it may get them more fans. Just a thought. I can hear Survivor doing ANYTIME.

Ugh!!.. Are you sure that they "tore it up?"

RM can't hit those registers the previous singers have, He is not in his element singing polished AOR Music.

The Band looks great however..........

I think he does a good job singing this song.....he may not fit some other Survivor songs but I think he fits this one. Coming from a devoted loooooooooooong time Dave/Survivor fan!

Cool dancing too to this song! Now we have a link you all can watch it.

I take that back, there are some songs on Business as Usual that could be Survivor songs. What do you think Survivorfan? I love the song When the Rain Came........Frankie's guitar is awesome in that song! It reminds me of a Survivor song. It is a good cd! Must have for Frankie fans and new Robin fans!

Oh yeah, a lot of those songs could be Survivor songs... Well, I mean basicly they are just w/ out Marc and others...and the name.. The songs that sound the most "Survivorish" would have to be "When the rain came". "Time will dry your tears". and "One Way Ticket" ...those are just some though..

BTW: That Debbie Gibson is still hot! She was so the Britney Spears of the 80s
Anyhow, Did you all hear what Josh Groban Said about Survivor?

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/17937008/

As the camera peeked in on Groban in the green room, the look on his face said,
“Eh, well, at least I’m not opening for Survivor.”
