Jimi in Beaumont TX

Postby montyollie » Sat Apr 14, 2007 8:21 am

Heh heh! I just arrived at my hotel in Beaumont TX, and I'm on my way to the Jimi concert.

I met some people here and they said that they passed by the park and there is NOTHING DOING there. A couple of tents set up, but beyond that, NO bikes. LORDY.

I suspect this might be a "Puppet Show and Jimi" concert!

HA

I'll update later!

Jimi was...

RAINED OUT!!!

I'm so sad I could cry. On the bright side, I met some bikers and we partied in downtown Beaumont and I rode a mechancial bull. I'm kind of sore. And I'm halfway home (somewheresville, Alabama) so all is well.

But I never got to meet him or see him. BOO HOO!

I'm from near Toronto, but I spent a week in New Orleans, which is four hours from Beaumont. Beaumont was a side trip for me.

Currently, I'm in Fort Payne, Alabama, en route to my friend's house in Jersey (12 more hours from here), then I have 8 more hours of driving back to my home. I'm tired and achy. LOL

LOL my sad story gets worse...

The tornados that rained out Jimi in Texas went through Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, Virginia and up to the Northeast. We followed them and got dumped on the whole way. Jersey is flooded all to hell and my friends' apartment got flooded. I hit the road today to come back to Canada, and I'm snowed in in Scranton, Pa right now. It's BAD out there. Holy freakin' storms!!!

I'm sad about Jimi, but I can't focus on it or I'll cry. HAHA JK. I'm okay. Texas was fun. At least I can say I rode a mechanical bull!!!

Oh yeah... just saw the news and get this:

Yesterday I was in Roanoke, VA. Had dinner just outside of town.

Lordy, this vacation couldn't put me in the path of more insanity if I'd have been a drama queen who planned it that way.

Too bad you won't be in Texas on June 2nd. He's playing a free concert in College Station Tx. I'll be there with my cooler of beer getting drunk and listening to Survivor tunes. Sorry you can't make it.
