Elite 8 - Game 4

Postby Eyeof » Mon Apr 23, 2007 11:03 pm

In a matchup of grit....

Top seeded (1) Eye of the Tiger vs. upset artest (25) Fire Makes Steel.....Is there a better song to take on the ultimate challenge than FMS....

Interestingly enough, to my knowledge these are the only two Survivor songs that we as fans can listen to actual studio recordings with all three singers Bickler, Jamison and McAuley versions....

So it doesn't matter what era you prefer here...it's all about the song.....

Vote, Vote, Vote....

And remember...voting last two days this round....

As it should be.

now red...you really think FMS is a better song? Or you just aren't as tired of it? Don't get me wrong...I kind of hoped Tiger wouldn't when this deal, as it's too predictable...

For my coin, Fire Makes Steel's the better song. My bracket had it coming out #1.

Seriously if FMS gets the win, I have lost all respect for Survivor fans. It's a good enough song, but not even in the same weight class as Eye of The Tiger.

Well damn, I wanted to vote for The Search is Over but it's already out of the running. I guess I'll have to go with Eye of the Tiger then.

Yeah.

By a pathetically outclassed song and fans of mediocre material rather than superior.

I have to agree with TR. This is the first poll result that has blown my mind...I just don't get it. Familiarity breeds contempt.

You're my man, but I STRONGLY disagree w/ his finding FMS as "mediocre" material, "pathetically outclassed" and superior.

A WWEEEEEEE bit exagerrated.

Something's rotten in Denmark here. Eye is rightfully getting housed by FMS and then suddenly has a surge in voting so huge it closes that entire gap? :? :|

I'm searching for 'hanging' chads....

No, it's 1 user, 1 vote. Physically impossible for the same ID to vote twice.

The only way it can be manipulated is if voters are recruited to stuff like the Oakland As fans of the late '80s used to do w/ All Star voting.

Now wait a minute Red...i never asked anyone to vote on any song...just tried to get a good poll turnout...I don't care who wins....

To be honest Eye of the Tiger is not my favorite Survivor song...Nothing Can Shake Me is...and it got whooped...Actually Eye isn't even my favorite song on that album...Silver Girl is....

but regardless...it's good for the board and it's been fun...what the heck are we going to do afterwards?

I was also suprised at how popular Oceans is, even with the non traditional Survivor fans....the people on the Journey board love it...it might go all the way....

I think a Flock of Seagulls poll should be next, as soon as 'Drew gets that board up and running.
