Survivor Concert Prices...

I was a little shocked by the price at the bottom...the last time I saw them they were litterally playing in the street for free in front of six people...

I don't know...I would be curious...but $48 a night is a good bit for that...and they were there two nights in a row...so how many total could there have been? Who on here would pay $96 to see them two nights in a row?

I'd pay that to see them with Dave, but not elsewise and then $100 is a lot...Also, that's not being negative to the new lineup, just the truth for me...

That's not HORRENDOUS. I don't, however, think ANY band, from Survivor to U2 should be charging more than $65 anyway.

Also, cleary this show was a few days ago can anybody find any reviews?

I do know that before Jimi left that was the ultimate goal, to play "hard ticket" shows. I think Jimi sang his last performance in Rutland, VT for a hard ticket show. Anyway, the promoter must be a good one in order to command that price for Survivor. Other than DWTS they have not been visable and this show has been booked for some time.

Where there are a certain number of tickets available for sale for a particular venue, usually with seat numbers etc. Not a deal where you pay $10 at a gate and walk in to the county fair.

You and Eye have got to quit sharing the same bong. Guy who gives a damn what the band got for a concert ticket. Why do you want them to fail? It's sad. I got a news flash for everyone; this band is more successful than Jamo! Sorry, facts are facts.

Ha! Pass me that bong, guys.

All they are saying is that it's a bit ambitious to charge that much on the heels of playing state fairs and headlining with puppet shows for a few years. It's ballsy.

To another topic, Survivor did sell that Rutland, VT show out last summer.

Ah, keep drinking the JIMI JAMISON COOL-AID. Yeah he's packing in those stadiums. He's cranking out those albums. Damn he was great on the nationally televised tv show. Hey Jamo, I'll take another 7 and 7, and hurry it up.

I don't give a rats ass about Jimi Jamison guy...you are talking to the wrong dude on that...I mean JJ was fine and I love the albums, but I think everyone knows I'm a Dave guy all the way....now I regress...my point was...and I'll go slow here...

A year ago I saw them playing in the street for three people for free....that's a fact, nothing to do with a bong or Frankie or your umwavering love for him....just a fact....so to play for that kind of money a year later is a pretty big change....that's a fact as well....

As for wanting them to fail....I don't at all....but first of all you'd have to actually try first in order to fail and since I'm sure it will be 15 years and three more lead singer changes before Frankie and whatever lineup is around him do anything album wise, I'm quite confident they won't fail....

Besides, they can't put out a new album until Frankie shows Red and I that place for Reach that will 'blow our minds'...or until 'tomorrow' when the band reporter returns or whatever garbage he continues to spew....

Hey Monty....pass me that bong back....this is gong to 'blow your mind'...

Eye, I have been critical of Frankie in many posts. I for one believe their website should be updated weekly. I think Frankie is a very private person who holds his cards close the vest. I think people misinterpret that. He does care about the fans. He's a deep guy. All I ask of everyone else on the board is hold Jamo, Peterik, etc. to the same standard as they do Frankie. Frankie is not the anti-christ. I think somedays you folks don't realize what you say. He has kept this band going and derves credit for that alone. I understand he will never win with certain people. I guess we all need scapegoats in life.

Eyeof, there were more people in the audience than 3 people. I believe you made reference to the show before as being in Charlotte, NC. Charlotte has a larger homeless population than 3. However, after FS long, way too long solo, the homeless population has now be cut in half!!!!

Yuck, Yuck. They just performed in front of 20 million people. Sorry these stupid comments just don't work anymore. Try a new line of stupidity.

Now Slander, while saying there were three there may be a bit silly, so is acting like they have some new fan base of 20 million...hell, they did those commercials that aired during those times, it's not the same...I love Survivor...hands down...my favorite band, but stop acting like being on that show was some kind of revival or something...I'm not saying this to be mean, but to most of the mainstream, it was a joke...on one VH1 show the person said..."Survivor was on DWTS....what was Flock of Seagulls busy?".....

Now before you get all defensive and start calling people stupid, think about what you are saying. There may be 20 million watch that show, but so what....How many people heard Dave's voice on a Super Bowl add? Doesn't mean he'll have a new album...or instand new found popularity....if you want to look at a line of stupidity...look no further than your own screen...

Eye, I respect your dedication to the band. Sometimes I wonder if we should all get lives. Here we are 30 and 40 something's spending far too much time debating the merit's of a rock band from the 1980's. Having said that, I want to debate the facts. The fact is they played in front of 20 million people. That is not up for discussion. I never said it was a revival. I never said they are going to be playing stadiums. I never said any of those things. I'm debating facts. Fact is Jamo's voice is not what it used to be. Fact is the band needed a much shot in the arm. Fact is they are working on an album. Fact is Frankie Sullivan has kept this band alive. I don't see there is much room for contention. So belittle all you want, it doesn't change the reality.

Fact is they were "working on an album" EVERY year from 1996 through 2005.
Fact is hospitals are full of trauma units as "alive" as Frankie "kept" Survivor. He's an unreal guitarist, but 1 album and 8.24 shows per year average for 18 years is not active.

Red, let's not go down this road. I know you and the rest of the folks get your kicks out of giving Frankie the "Rodney King" treatment but I'm being honest when I say it is starting to border on rediculous. We all know the past. I know the promises Frankie has failed to keep. I for one wonder about Rocky Balboa. I'm just guessing but I think Stallone probably changed his mind. The new Rocky film was all about the first film. Yes, 3-6 Mafia had a song in the film but it was for Mason Dixon. I understand everyone's resistance to change but I for one think Jamo's leaving is for the better. His voice isn't what it used to be. That is a fact! Robin brings a new energy that was sorely lacking. He is a breathe of fresh air. My problem with the Frankie bashers is their tendency to exaggerate. Survivor has been working a lot this year. Do you deny that Red? It's more than I can remember in recent memory. They are working on a new album. They did do DWTS. We can either live in the past or accept Robin. Clubbing Frankie like a baby seal every chance you get isn't doing anyone any good. By the way, why doesn't anyone bitch about Jimi's inactivity? What the hell is he doing? What solo album has he cranked out of late? By the way this isn't a criticism of Jamo, I just want you guys to hold your MESSIAH to the same standard you do Survivor.

Slander, how do you know they are working on a new album? Just because FS says so doesn't mean it is true unless of course you know something that we little people don't.

We need to get Jamo's geriatric ass in gear! Damn he sure is busting out the gigs. Wow. He's a friggin madman. That new solo album of Jimi's is fantastic. Oh wait, how many years ago was that? Empires? 1999? What was the one before that? A decade earlier. Let's hold people to the same standard gentlemen.

Slander, since you don't consider Jimi to be Survivor, why do you make reference to him everytime a factual, although negative, comment is made about Survivor. I don't believe that I have ever read where Jimi has promised a new album or anything like that. Maybe he has, I am just not aware of it. By the way, Jimi recently had a duet with Whitney Wolanin that reached #9 on the AC Top 40 radio air play charts.

Dude, you are ridiculous. People are a little upset with Frankie because Survivor is one step away from Foreigner. You think it is good that Survivor is now really a guitarist, drummer and three sessions guys? It is not. You act like 20 Million people all tuned in to see Survivor on Dancing With the Stars....don't get me wrong it was great they were on there....but you go a little over board on everything. You act like Jimi Jamison had a trake. Frankie's ego and 20 minute guitar solos are just as much a problem with Survivor as Jimi's vocals. You exaggregate everything. I am glad some form of Survivor is still around, but the fans want a little more...their is nothing wrong with that.

Thank you, Rock. I don't know of anyone here who hates Frankie and doesn't rate him as a premier FIRST rate player. It's the inertia and stand stills accompanyed by promises of granduer that bother us. Slander the irony is that you bash the everloving dogshit out of Jimi while out of the other side of your keyboard saying that THAT'S what people here do to Frankie. And as for Jamo's singing being a problem? Hell, EVERY rock band should have a problem like that.
