If any of you are in Houston or anywhere else close to College Station...Jimi Jamison's playing a free concert on June 2.
Figured I'd let y'all know. Any questions..I'll be browsing in here later.:-)

I'd see Jamo. He's such a talented guy and the price is right. I just am sick of people making fun of Survivor playing free gigs. It's so hypocritical.

Hey...I'm LOVIN' it. If Journey did the same...I'd be all over it. Alls I gotta do is fill up a cooler with beer (maybe one water.), travel 2 miles, sit on the lawn, get drunk and hear some kick ass music. Hopefully later that night I'll be getting laid...
I honestly hope to God that he plays "Is This Love". I've heard all my other favorites live except that one. Pisses me off.

He did it when I saw him in August. I'll be honest I do not like IS THIS LOVE. I thought it was the end of the group. Way too pop for me.

Well I hope I can form my own opinion about it hearing it live. I still love the song. Reminds me of when I was a kid. (I'm 27 btw)

Hmm...After further thought...I thought that everything off of Vital Signs was EXTREMELY pop. (Not CRAP pop like we have now...don't get me wrong). I can listen to that album and KNOW I'm in 80's "Flock Of Seagulls pop" (except with better songwriting.) territory.
Again...don't get me wrong...love the album...just making the point that they went pop before "Is This Love".

Hey escape, is that one of your favorite albums cause it is mine! I like that line... not like the crap we have now cause that is the god aweful truth, that's why I listen to country these days. Anyway, VS is pretty much pop but its an awesome album, loads better than WSC but I think Is This Love is a pretty good song. I remember when that song first came out on the radio.

in the meantime, you'll die of thirst waiting on a beer...

It's a great album. Got me into Survivor. I just remember being psyched in about '84 or '85 when the radio station played Popular Girl. Back when radio was worth listening to. Ahh..the good ole' days.

Even I back off from time to time.

TERRIFIC song, Popular Girl.

Was that one of the ones they demoed up with Dave before he rolled?

I know Broken Promises and I think The Search...

Broken Promises could be one of the biggest rockers they have...espec with Bickler on it...

I can remember hearing popular girl on the radio...

I remember on station one night, playing the entire album....

Also, when I was younger, a station near my home had Survivor week....

Believe it or not, that was before Vital Signs...Around the moment of truth time...

they had all types of interviews etc...good stuff....

some of that shoud be out there...

That's why it was cool...never actually released as a single but we had a cool station. Sadly it died about a year later. Hmm...wonder why?

Jimi's peforming solo shows? I can tell you what he and his group performed when I saw him late August 06. Sorry I didn't realize Jimi was regularly performing.

Yea he did and it was an AWESOME show. I got to sing Eye of the Tiger with him when he came out on the lawn. One week later and I'm STILL beaming. :-)
