UPDATE - ALL IS WELL

Postby Andrew » Thu Jun 14, 2007 9:54 am

Ok folks, good news.

I have talked this moring at length with band manager Charlie. We know each other from way back and after I missed his 1.30am call, I got hold of him at 8am my time.

I am told and I guess I have to believe this - but apparently the issuing of the cease and desist orders was done without Frankie's knowledge. He remains a fan of this site and I'm told still hold me in high regard and that is why I personally wasn't served.
The attorney's who protect the name and image of Survivor (rightfully so) acted immediately upon seeing what they did, but in Chuck's words, when he was notified of this, he said "this can't be good..."

No, it sure as hell wasn't....BUT...Frankie and management are at pains to point out that once they were mde aware of it, and the posts here (ooops), they have reached out to me and there is NO problem promoting Jim or Jimi as ex-membrs of the band, but they would rather I refrained from using the logo in any form.
I'm absolutely fine with that...

So good result in the end folks...better communication up front might have avoided this, but hopefully a clear path lies before us and Frankie should not be recieving any heat from this - and won't from me. In fact...I'll delete the thread I started as a sign of good will.

Business as normal commences now.

Good for Frankie, I owe him an apology and I wish that along w/ JJ and JP that Frankie and Survivor would be there, but it's not too late for that, either is it Drew?

That's great news. Like I said in other posts we should have waited until things shook out before drawing conclusions. Andrew I'm thrilled for you but at the same time disappointed that others didn't give Frankie and the gang the benefit of the doubt. Some awful things were truly said.

Sure...and to some degree they followed my lead. So let that slide and I'll delete the thread now. I'm hoping I can talk to Frankie soon.

This is good but given past precedence who can blame the 'bat or us for immediately figuring it was Frank....
also your laywers DO represent YOU so you need to be somewhat responsible for what they do.
further, who's to say Survivor/Frankie did not get wind of the backlash and change the stance?

But, all things being equal I will extend Frankie the benefit of the doubt and say I feel bad I jumped to the immediate bad conclusion.

That's big of you Red. Now what about 7 calling Frankie a sack of **** and need I go on. Go ahead cover your tracks. You were wrong. I'm thrilled for Andrew and the show. You guys bash away even when you were wrong. It is unfortunate. You are bigger than this.

If Frankie hadn't had a history of doing shit like this, I would have been completely out of line - as it is, I made a mistake. Just like you, Slander, I've been wrong before. Hopefully this is the end of it and there won't be some last-minute injunction thrown at 'Drew or the concert. The difference between the two of us is that I know when to acquiesce and when to say I was wrong - something I have NEVER seen you do. I don't think you would know how, since you're always right about everything.

Ok, let's not get into a personal thing again. The situation is fixed, so all is good....

I would say you were right in making any assumption you like but wrong for calling FS a sack of ****. That's pretty extreme. Even for you 7. Thank god it's cleared. You have made this extremely personal for me for whatever reason. If you need to take out your frustrations out on me that is fine. Just remember I AIN'T GOING NOWHERE.
