The New Band Note Thread led me to this question and I would hava asked there if I wasn't so far behind.

Did Survivor ever play Vehicle on tour?

I can't say for sure, but I doubt it.

If they did it was most likely on their first tour.

When Survivor first formed the plan was to have Dave Bickler and Jim Peterik share the lead vocal duties almost 50-50, but then Peterik only sang lead vocals on one song on the first album.

The song "Somewhere In America" that was on Survivor's first album had originally been a Jim Peterik solo song that his band would perform, but then Survivor ended up doing it with Dave Bickler on lead vocals.

So again, I doubt that they did Vehicle, but I can't say for sure.

I hope not. It's not one of their better songs.

Actually, it's an "Ides Of March" song, which was Jim Peterik's first band.

Last summer I went and saw the "Ides Of March" in concert and in adition to of course playing Vehicle, they also played Survivor's "High On You" "The Search Is Over" and "Eye Of the Tiger" as well as 38 Special's "Rockin Into The Night" "Hold On Loosly" and "Caught Up In You." Those 38 Special hits were all co-written by Jim Peterik.

Who did the vocals for the Survivor stuff? Hope it wasn't Jim.

Yes, all of the lead vocals were done by Jim. He's not as good of a singer as Jimi or Dave but he is pretty good. I thought it was pretty cool to hear his renditions of the songs, he does a nice job.

Wow! If only FS and JP join again, these two survivors could be magic again. :D
