Thanks for the stuff. Although, I don't prefer JJ doing Survivor tunes, unless he had a hand in writing them. Oh well. But I will say Mickey Thomas is a good mix for JJ.

I believe Mickey Thomas was considered for the Survivor gig if I'm not mistaken. The dude would have been great on vital signs.

Mickey can flat out belt it out. Survivor is playing with Starship in Las Vegas next month. Wish I could go : (

I saw Thomas open for Survivor back in 1993. He's a great singer.
Of course you all know that he sang backing vocals on Vital Signs.

I had never heard that Thomas was considered as the new singer in Survivor for Vital Signs, that's interesting.

I know that Kevin Chalfant was highly considered for the opening at the time.

I don't know if that's true. I had heard that somewhere, but wasn't Starship doing just fine then? Why would he make the switch?

I think that Starship may have still been together at that time, but I'm not sure? I'm glad that Survivor went with Jimi Jamison, but Chalfant or Thomas would have also been great choices.

Survivor have been fortunate to have had such great background vocalists in addition to the bands own members. They have had Mickey Thomas, Tommy Shaw, Kevin Cronin and Tom Kelly.

Hey Journey,

Fill me in on Tom Kelly.

Let's not forget Fergie Fredericksen (Toto) backing vocals on "Eye" album.
