It's a Jazz album...it is mainly his in house studio guys and they are doing Jazz versions of songs he wrote....I am sure Tiger will be on it, and Jazz versions of other hits he co-wrote....

Mike Aquino is of course on it as well, and he is the perfect fit as Mike is an Amazing Jazz guitarist....probably better even than his rock playing....Mike is a Blues and a Jazz guy before rock IMHO....he is great at those genre's....I wish he would do a blues album, but he is working on a country album right now....

Hope that helps....

Special guest reed specialist Steve Eisen will also join us for the premier of some new smooth jazz from my upcoming album. Material on the show will span from the rock classics to brand new songs hot off the press. Thom Griffin will add his unique talents on background vocals and an occasional star turn. Once again visuals will be supplied by Terry Becker.

This is a copy of the Jim Peterik Homepage. It´s about his World Stage Projekt for 2008...

I'd be interested in hearing a jazz version of "vehicle" too - the 'big band' version on "world stage' is pretty good....but who will be singing these songs? Like "tiger" and the likes...

My hope is that we don't start to turn Tiger into a parady. I don't need to hear Wayne Newton or Debbie Reynolds singing it. I wish it would just stay a rock song. Just my opinion.

I think you are right. Or it just might have been acoustic. Jim and Frankie can do what they want with the song. IT'S THEIR SONG. I just prefer it be played straight ahead.

I'm a big Fan of Jim Peterik and his works but no Jazz Fan. Let's see what happens but I doubt that JP would make a parody.

..yeah Slander ,or acoustic. In every way it was very blues touched. I agree Ingo! Parody is what bands like Green day done with this this song. It´s my opinion!

Yes, was a Blues Version on Youtube. Small clip from a VH 1 Show called "Big in the 80's" hosted by Rick Springfield. Short Interview with Frankie and Dave. But the Youtube Video is deleted...

How do those demos sound? And are there any updates on when the Jamison album is supposed to be out?

7 tracks, sound very good. Need a couple more rockers in the mix, but I think that's being worked on next. Jimi is back with Jim this month for more work.

ETA for a release will be mid-year I think.

More thoughts soon...

Good point. By the way is Survivor still signed with Frontiers? I had heard they are not.

I agree. One of my complaints about the group is it's information/marketing. I think that has always been a problem dating back to the glory days. They don't do nearly enough press. I wish there was a personal/emotional connection between the group and fans. Survivor has great fans! Frankie is a private person but he also loves his fans and loves Survivor. If more of you could see that you would think differently about FS. He's a good man.

They had a distribution deal with Frontiers...Survivor owned it, and for lack of a better word leased it to Frontiers to sell in Europe....they had deals in other areas as well....ALOT of bands do this....Toto had RedEye distribution and Frontiers...so alot of bands are doing this so they are not captive to one lable blah blah blah....if that makes any sense.....

If Survivor does another album I am sure they will do it the same way...

Frontiers is a good record label.. allthough the US should see a REACH release around the same time the new album comes out..

If I am not mistaken, Frontiers does not do anything in the US. Survivor would need to secure a domestic release from another label.

Once again JV many thanks for cleaning up speculation. So we are looking at a Feb or March release for Mecca 2?

Not to cut Joe off, but I'm already working with and towards releases for March and April, so Mecca will be mid-year at the earliest.
