Jimi Jamison Behind The Music

:D Go to myspace.com/frontiersrecords

The entire song is played .. Jimi sounds like he did in 1984 .. WOW What a leap from 2006 ..! This cd is going to blow us away .. His vocals are cystal clear again . This gives us fans something to believe again.. Survivor or not this is the real deal to me.

Asia's new tune is on there too. John Wetton sounds great too..
2008 the year of melodic rock baby!!!

Jimi Jamison's singing voice is above reproach but the songs have to be strong and have hooks.

I'm worried about this aspect as Reach, FMS, Give Me The World, even Don't Give Up were hook-laden.

Above reproach? Yes.

Above contempt (courtesy of Slander)? No.
But around town, it was well known...when they got home at night
Their fat and psychopathic wives
Would thrash them within inches of their lives!

:D Jamison is back ..! Everyone thought his voice was shot .. He has revived that passion in his voice and his vocals shine once again. Those vocals sold records and made the top 10 . You can compare all you want about how great Dave sounded and he did but at the end of the day Jimi Jamison carried Survivor on through the radio hit machine years . The music might not have been as rockin' and the guitar may not have been scorching but the keyboard / piano & vocals made them rich period.

To me Peterik & Jamison are the heart of Survivor . I am not so sure a band name in 2008 really means all that much in the USA. That in itself is sad.
I am very excited to see two of my favorite musicans working together . Long live the passion these guys create.

Hey Bulldog,

They were two seperate bands in my opinion. And they both made great music. I don't think we need to compare. I don't know if JJ carried Survivor. I understand your feeling that way. Let's keep in mind without EOTT there would not have been a chance to have a Vital Signs more than likely. Just a thought.

I actually don't mind JJ on REACH. I like the record more than others on this board. I think the album contains some fine JJ moments.

Hey You,

I think hook laden was a good thing. All 5 songs JOEPA mentions were solid! Let's hope JP and JJ's stuff can live up to them. I have no doubt they will.

Actually that's incorrect slander. if you'll remember Vital Signs was considered a make or break record for the band. They were going to do that album regardless of Eye. Back then record companies gave out more than 1 album deals.

Good point axe. My point was the success of Tiger really paved the way for VS. People new the name Survivor because of Tiger.
