Red, so what was the deal...

I get it, they used some taped vocals...what was there to argue about?

By the way, i'm not sure the kid from the Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom was the right choice for a lead singer there...

The extent of the use of tapes.

I heard tapes in versions of The Place In Your Heart and Faith In The Heartland, beyond that I could never tell.

Doesn't matter because it grew legs and the rest was history.

Majority opinion became that just about every single show from some point in 2004 until Augeri left was full-on lipsynched

One thing you will find on here Irwin is people will tell you that they DON'T want be told how to post....AND THEN THE HYPOCIRTES will turn around and do the same thing! It really is humorous. They are the most insensitive-sensitive people.

 Haven't heard that one before. Good call.

I am not a huge fan of Arnel's, but he is a better fit for Journey than MacAuley is for Survivor. And I like MacAuley.

I wouldn't wish that on Robin. His stuff with MSG is solid.

Journey fans have argued and gotten bloody since Perry left and Steve was hired. The arguing goes back to 'Journey should not continue without Perry', 'Perry was fired', 'No, Perry quit', 'Whose band is it anyway'....etc.

Hey Red...I've actually seen bootleg video from europe where they are doing Be Good To Yourself and during the bridge part where the vocals go...Whooooaa be good and then goes into a little solo by Neal. Augeri puts the mic down by his waist and all of a sudden you can here him singing Whoaaawhoaa. It's really funny because the people at the show all freak out and it's real obvious that he was ashlee simpsoning it. I heard that the show they used is the Vegas show from the DVD.

The theory and evidence on offer was that the Vegas vox were used and just the studio Generations vocals for those songs played.

I have the feeling that Augeri was singing live too along w/ the tapes which of course, could be cranked up any time he struggled.

Dave28, what do you think?

Not sure we really need to go down this line of questioning again.

There were tapes used, definately. All the time? I don't think so.

On the clip referred to (BGTY) it is very possible that the "Whoooa BGTY" was BGvox from Deen and the rest of the band.

Steve needed a break and never got one. (He even mentioned the band taking some time off for a season hear on MR.com, only to have the band agree to the Def Leppard Tour.) He had developed a health problem. The band covered it up until they couldn't anymore. When Steve went live at the beginning of the Def Leppard tour it became obvious that he could not continue. Sad that it had to come to that. I miss Steve. But Arnel has got a lot more power and energy than Steve had.

I know what you mean, but me and you hardly if ever got a chance to compare notes about it in a forum of less passionate, more clinically eyed, neutral observers.
