I know him!!!!!!!!!!! Jack Schidt that is. As for the Fire demos...don't have them and don't want them. I've heard them and didn't like them. The only thing they were good for was to see how "Fire makes Steel" was supposed to sound before it got butchered in the studio by whoever produced it.

Eye this is one thing we have agreement on. It is superior in many ways.

Actually the credits are as follows:
Survivor-Ron Nevison
Premonition-Sullivan/Peterik
Eye of the Tiger-Sullivan/Peterik
Caught in the Game-Sullivan
Vital Signs-Ron Nevison
When Seconds Count-Nevison/Sullivan
Too Hot too Sleep-Frank Filipetti/Sullivan

Seems that Irwin is mistaken As these are the actual credits on the albums themselves. Thanks for the answer, it made me think and go get my copies out and look.

Based on what I found,it reasons that the most commercially successful album was done by Ron Nevison by himself.
The fans favorites were done by Sullivan/Peterik.
Does anyone disagree?
Now so no one gets his nose out of joint......there is no hidden agenda here,so put the amateur detective kit away( In the vein of a survivor song...You know who you are).

I do have 1 other question.....When do you feel that survivor started to go soft? What album would you say took them away from their "street"sound as some like to call it?

The highest a Survivor album went in the charts was EOTT album to me that's commercially successful for an ALBUM. To me Peterik/Sullivan produced albums were THE best in soundcraft and production. Commercially successful VS. VS unfortunately missed out in one thing, a proper bass sound (atleast it seemed lost in the mix).

Survivor went pop from WSC. Here i think they were in two minds. Rock or pop?

A lot of people like to blame WSC as the album that 'jumped the shark', becasue Vital Signs was such a hit. But if you listen to Caught in the Game vs. Vital Signs there is a big difference there.

Yeah, I'd agree with that. When Seconds Count was as 'pop' as they ever got (the sheer fact they needed an extra synth player when they already had Peterik on keyboards didn't help), but it started with Vital Signs. I think JP and FS were trying to cater the material and sound to their new singer (although I understand that at least Broken Promises and I See You In Everyone were demo'd with Bickler?). It's ironic really, I always think of Jamo has having a 'tougher', 'grittier' voice whereas Dave's voice sounds smoother (almost 'golden') to my ears (except on certain songs like Nothing Can Shake Me, Poor Man's Son, etc where he rips it up)! Hell, what do I know?! However, personality wise I think Dave had the 'street' attitude. Be interesting to know if Broken Promises etc were rawer and less poppy in their demo forms with Bickler.

You know, it might sound funny (go ahead laugh :P ), Survivor tried a bit of pop in Caught in the Game, in the song "What do you really think" You can hear a bit of High on You in the way its crafted. So, this flys in the face of the difference between CITG and VS.

Frankly, the band did try different things (Frankie mentioned it sometime back).

Vital Signs WAS written with Dave in mind. Dave did Broken Promises live in the 90's I believe. That bootleg is in the hands of some fans.
