Postby Irwin M Fletcher » Sat Jun 28, 2008 9:45 pm

this is addessing everyone survivor related especially Joe Vana cause i hear he knows Frankie Sullivan really well. im trying to get Survivor to come to the UK and play some gigs this year or next year. i know a few promoters who would discuss prices, etc and could arrange maybe 6 or 7 gigs in the UK. anyone there who could help or has an e-mail address of survivors management? much appreciated :)

Irwin, you didn't capitalize the S in Survivor.

Expect Sir Francis' lawyers to be slamming you with a defamation lawsuit within the next 24 hours.

And with Francis and "Survivor" turning down stadium gigs here, what makes you think they'll go to the UK?

By stadium gigs, of course, I refer to the fact that everyone other than Sir Francis works the day shift cleaning out the bleachers at Wrigley.

Not really Irwin. Pretty standard stuff for second tier bands that didn't headline during the 80's. Survivor is my favorite band but I acknowledge that they were never a BIG headliner.

I'll bet you could get them for under 10,000. Don't forget they are also playing at a local Chicago suburb high school gym. I believe it's in Elmwood Park.

Irwin, there was some talk of them being approached for a Firefesta while ago but the cost was silly apparently.Glad to see another UK fan.I dont think they have ever played live here, they did do a promo visit around 1986 where I think they did some tv appearances.I do have an interview(audio)with Stefan and Marc from Radio Clyde. They were due to play the Reading Festival in 1983 but this got cancelled(I have a copy of the fax from the USA informing the promoter of this cancellation).
Will we see them here?,to be honest I doubt it(I also doubt we will see Jamo too, dont start me on that)

A European tour has been planned/announced and cancelled twice already. I would go an hire Tom Jones instead.

Right on there, JV. I just love music, being out there, singing my songs, and paying tribute to the music that inspired me. The last gig my old band played was in front of about 40 people, and we made about $150. It was a great show, and I miss it.

I hope so, I know for a fact it is frustrating the hell out of Dante Fox who were the backing band.I saw Two Fires with JP and Kelly Keagy at the Gods of AOR a few years ago, would love to see JP or anyone Survivor linked again

Dodgey promoter as far as JJ's tour was concerend. He's working around that to get a new one.

In Survivor's case - the band pulled the plug on their Euro promoter.

Thanks for the report, Andrew.
That said, just so everyone knows, I RESPECT JOURNALISTIC INTEGRITY, and wonder if you got Survivor (Frankie's) side of that,. :)

What side is there to get Red. Survivor is entitled to cancel anything they want. What's the issue?

As far as I knows Jamo was booked "only" for the UK. Not a Europe tour.
