Crue Fest

Hey Red...Crue Fest Kicked Major Ass...

I did miss Sixx AM...

But Papa Roach was good...Buckcherry rocked and I've never heard the crue sound better..

Vince sung every word, very clear...they had the baby grand back out for "home sweet home" and Mars burned up the guitar.

Of course the Tit E. Camm was back and good fun was had by all. Got to head bang to the Crue from the pit and loved every fist pumping second of it...

How are you liking the new album?

New record's growing on me more, digging Down At The Whiskey, The Animal In Me, Welcome To The Machine and Just Another Psycho a ton right now after being away from the album for a week.
EyeOf, what was your setlist/how many new songs?

Here is the set list. Just two new songs. They only played 1.5 hours as it was a festival with five bands...

But they were tight. Vince hit every note and the energy was awesome.

01. Kickstart My Heart
02. Wild Side
03. Shout at the Devil
04. Saints of Los Angeles (With guest appearances by BUCKCHERRY's Josh Todd, PAPA ROACH's Jacoby Shaddix, TRAPT's Chris Taylor Brown and SIXX: A.M.'s James Michael)
05. Live Wire
06. Mutherfucker of the Year
07. Don't Go Away Mad (Just Go Away)
08. Same Ol' Situation
09. Primal Scream
10. Looks that Kill
11. Girls Girls Girls
12. Dr. Feelgood
13. Home Sweet Home (Tommy Lee on piano at front of stage)

I knew at least one song from everyone. Trampt was ok, I liked the one song I knew http://youtube.com/watch?v=jfyPxvdmwv0. However, I think the guy was lipsyncing, but not positive. Or very vocally enchanced.

Sixx A.M. were pretty good. I knew a couple of their songs. The crowd was into them because of Nikki, not that many people there yet. Papa Roach impressed me and the crowd was into them big time. I started to wonder if they were there for them. Crowd was decent at this point. Lead singer came into the crowd. They sang a couple of songs I didn't know they did. Buckcherry was good. I don't want to say I'm disappointed, because I wasn't, but I thought I would know more of their songs. I probably should've listened to the first CD more recently. Either that or they played more songs from the second CD (which I don't have). I can't believe they played that much, if any off of the second CD which was a flop, so it must have been off their first CD but I didn't recall the songs. So, who knows. Actually, it may have been off their new disc coming out September 16. If that's the case, their stupid for playing so much new stuff, that fans haven't even heard. The lead singer is a dirty perverted bastard but funny. Crowd like them especially when they played their hits. I would probably say overall Papa Roach was over more than Buckcherry. Also, Buckcherry only played for 45 minutes, so that was a little disappointing. Then, after a 45 minute break (why - I don't know as the show was flowing quick with little down time and that is what made me ticked that BC only played 45 minutes) Motley Crue came out.

They only played two new songs but shot a video for the new song - Motherf-cker of the year. Crowd was into the new songs. T!tt!e cam was back! Tommy got pissed at someone in the front row. I'm not sure what happened, maybe the guy threw something because after the song, Tommy came out from the drums and got in the guy's face and started cussing at the guy (f-ckin' @sshole & dickhead is what I heard). I thought he was going in the crowd. They were on for 1 1/2 hours only. It did feel a little short. Mind you, that is 1 1/2 hours including some down time i.e. t!tt!e cam, Nikki talking, and the down time for the encore. So, they probably played no more than 75 minutes top. The pit was useless. There was one quick, very mini-mosh during Papa Roach and that was because the singer wanted them to. Good show overall and worth the money (EDIT: As long as you like at least some of the other bands. With the Crue set list so short, if you are just going to see them, it may be a little disappointing.).

Basically the same set list but they also played Sick Love Song. Kind of goes to the point, only 14 songs. Even if you play only 1 1/2 hours, you should almost wipe out 18-20 songs. Grant it the tittie cam takes up time (and it is worth it) so the low number or 17 songs should still be able to be hit.

Okay I'll admit Crue is great live, but I hate Neill's vocals. Had to say it.

Vince, along with Jamison and Gary Cherone are in my top 3.

I love the way that guy's voice sounds especially in his prime from around Feelgood-Exposed.
You can expand the "lesser" prime to GGG-Generation Swine.

Granted he's very hit or miss now live, but I'm all about albums anyway.

I think maybe he gets bored and goes through the motions a little on the older stuff live.

Like the live edition of SOLA on the bonus dvd he is amazing. I think he puts more heart and sould and interest into doing the newer stuff, as COS had great rendions of Sick Love Song and If I Die Tomm.
