I'm sorry if this is a repost. This just popped up on video. It's from July 3.

Thank you Slander!

Here's "Somewhere in America" from the same concert:

Who's the man on the keys? Very interesting that he plays guitar, too.

I just read this off of wikipedia, I know it's not the most accurate place, but is this real?

From wikipedia: Grove, a classically trained pianist, has been with the group for more than ten years since he replaced Peterik in July 1996. He joined the band after release from prison in Chino, after serving time for killing a homeless man.

If this is true, I was just kidding about getting rid of the keyboard player. You're awesome! Best keyboard player out there IMO.

Well that's actually not Grove, he left the band and plays with Eddie Money. But is that really true of Grove? I never heard that....

no Frank plays normally his Anderson Hollow Drop Top 2004 and Gibson Les Paul Standard '60s

The last Time I saw him playing a Fender Strat was in 2002-03 with jamo.. It was a Black Fender Stratocaster.
In his carrer he was mostly saw using Fender Strats, Gibson Les Pauls, Gibson Es-1275 Doubleneck, Gibson ES-335 and some Andersons Guitars
I saw him with a Fender tele on japan tour '85 and on some dates in'97 with bickler and on the dancing with the star show.
But I don,t think he uses tele on stage these days.

As for Fender Strat, he doN,t use them anymore on stage for the moment beacause the anderson guitar has the tone and vibe that frank that replace his old strats.
But who knows.. maybe soon he will take a strat?

You know "Eyeof" he didn't use the Gibson Les Paul live from 2003-2006...
All the reports I had a the time was that he uses only Andersons model (3 guitars.. the "blue" (hollow drop top) one, the "yellow" (cobra) one and the "orange" one (hollow drop top))
maybe he had some contra to use only Andersons guitars at that time...

Was he playing a Strat on When Seconds Count? The tone on Oceans is killer. It sounds close to a Strat neck pick-up but at the same time it sounds a little bit too hot to be a Strat. That's one of my favorite Frankie tones right there.

yeah "Ocean" was played with a strat, but the tone is with both neck and middle pickups.
It was played with a '50s fender strat.

on this record he used a lot of reverb and the old Proco Rat pedal

so what you hear on "Ocean" is a combination of the strat tone (middle + neck pickup), a lot of reverb and the proco rat pedal.

The solo is great on this track

by the way, stehan ellis did a GREAT job on this particular track on .. the bass track is awesome...

Oceans is just a killer song. Very Bickler-era sounding too. How bout Frankie's amp on that tune/album?

i think ellis was a very underated bassist, just listen to the premonition album, he and droubay are solid :)
