No Jamo Reviews Yet?

Postby Idiosyncrasy » Tue Oct 21, 2008 10:06 pm

The release date of Crossroads Moment is approaching and I can't find a single review yet! Has Frontiers been sending out promos? Did they record a video as advertised on the press release? I know a few times I've seen companies advertise a bonus feature only for it not to be included on the final CD. :-(

- Danny.

(And just as a side note, I'd love to hear a live version of Oceans - what a great song!)

Live Oceans would be great but we need Frankie on it. That's one of Frankie's finest and most overshadowed moments. Can't wait for Crossroads Moment

I know for a fact there are promo copies here in the UK,with voiceovers on it to stop it being any use to a downloader.

I didn't know you were a fellow Brit, Richard! I'm in not-so-sunny Ipswich, where are you?

Are the voiceovers just introducing the songs, or is it Jim/Jamo talking about the songs as well? I still really like those track by track things that Peterik did for Pride of Lions. Hoping he'll do the same for Crossroads Moment.

ANDREW

Or anyone else for that matter.

Can you tell me which CD release will be the best version to get?

What I mean by that is which one will have the most songs on it? I believe that I heard one of the versions is going to have a bonus track that the others don't have?

Is that a Japanese version, European version, or what?

bonus tracks

Postby Jeremy Holiday » Thu Oct 23, 2008 3:26 am

The Euro and Japanese CDs each have unique bonus tracks. The Frontiers release has "Alive" which is a different arrangement than that which was previously featured on Jimi's Myspace.

The Japanese version includes "Streets of Heaven" as a bonus track. This is a sentimental ballad which, IMO, feature's Jimi's best and most heartfelt vocal on the album.

So far, there's no version that includes both of these songs on the same CD.

Thanks man!

And I'm assuming that there is no domestic release planed? And even if there is, there wouldn't be a bonus track I'm sure?

Both European version and Japanese version have 15 tracks, the difference being the last track is different for both territories. (See past post of track listing details)

My review comng when I get back to AU.

I know they are trying to prevent piracy, etc. but the idea of voiceovers on the disc is a major turn off for me.

I have no plans or the knowledge to post the material online. I don't mind being held to a higher standard. I do mind being held to a lower one.

Just in case anyone is interested the video for "When Rock Was King" does not appear as a bonus on the cd.The good thing is that the linear notes contain stories behind the songs by Jimi.Very similar to what JP did on the first 2 POL releases.

You're joking right? Why would I not expect this to be up to the same standards as other JP projects? When Rock was King is a great song although I have reservations about the video.

Looking forward to reading this as I always find it interesting the artist's interpretation of the song, coz it's usually totally different from what I think it means, which to me, is what makes a good song....great...that it can touch people in different ways.
love everyone, everyday, every minute...

The new cd cover to cover is great ... Jimi's vocals are back on track and he is where he should be... Working with Jim Peterik. These guys give the fans what they want to hear and they still go out and work .I love it..

Survivor and the sound of the glory days is dead. Regardless it is true . Frankie is a awesome guitar player but it appears he doesn't seem to care as much about his fans via updates and projects like the fans care about him. That is his choice not to record and put out cds. I think he should hook up with Eddie Money again and do a follow up to Ready Eddie . With money ,success . royalties and past achievements maybe he doesn't feel the need to be back in the game and promote new stuff. I prefer him to help out Eddie Money again than do another Survivor cd with the current line-up.

I am glad Dave Bickler is back doing music stuff.. I hope this is just the start of his comeback into the scene.

Gawd, I would love to hear more out of dave....I can't get enough of that voice...

by the way Silver, I watched the '93 LaGrange show again last night on the airplane, WOW...the band was so tight then and Bickler handles the material maserfully....That is without a doubt the strongest version of "The Search Is Over" I have ever heard....and wow...Burning Bridges is awesome and I can't get enough of Dave on "I Can't Hold Back." ...ahhh what could have been....

or can be...

Cheap shot! Frankie just posted an update on what the group is working on. Secondly FS has been working with JV on Mecca 2! Let's enjoy JJ's new effort with having to stir up this same crap.

just let it go dude...this is how it always starts...he is entitled to his opinion, you should not feel the need to correct opionions. Everyone is entitled to him.

Don't worry guys, this won't start a flame war. No matter what mr. last word replies, I won't say another word about it...

Eye you are absolutely right. My only question on this board is why I haven't been entitled to mine? Anytime I say anything positive about the real band I get ripped to shreds. Makes no sense to me.

I don't know dude, you have a point...i think it's just because it comes off to people that you get mad at their opinion or something...FS is a big boy and and incredibly talented dude...maybe he does not need defended, but then again if we didn't debate the stuff, then nobody even posts.

I don't mind the debating, but i'll be the first to admit we've all crossed the line on the last couple of posts...it really doesn't need to get personal as we sometimes make it...i have nothing against you or anyone on here...hell, we are all fans and there aren't that many of us...
