That Peterik paraphrases the opening guitar from 'Nothing Can Shake Me' on 'Midnight In My Soul'? Just an observation!

JP likes to use pieces of old tunes in new ones...there are a bunch of tunes with pieces of old....I personally find nothing wrong with it....

One of the later tracks on CM definitely has a riff that sounds eerily like "Hiding from Yourself" from ATS. I'll have to go back and check

You can drive yourself nuts going through tracks....their is a lot to listen through...again...I think it is all cool...as long as you are not borrowing from somebody else :-)

Oh yeah, I wasn't criticising - I'm a Jim Steinman fan and NO ONE recycles more than he does! I kinda like it! It gives the songs an 'intertextual' feel, you know - they feel part of the same universe. I hear bits of other Survivor songs all over Pride of Lions and Crossroads Moment - and that's great! It always brings a smile to myself when I hear the guitar solo in Journey's Signs of Life where Neal gives us a little nod towards Who's Crying Now.
