Where's the best place to get my hands on a copy of the first Mecca CD? I can't seem to find it for sale anywhere for under $30, but that can't be right.

I'd buy it. I can't find it for a reasonable price anywhere, either. That's the problem with having to buy an album as an import.

Just checked in after a few weeks ... "these hands" sounds great - would be a nice "instrumental" too, love the percussions ... looking forward to final release of album.

This is NOT a MECCA tune...it is for another album I am working on it...

The changes I do love on it....we are going for a very lush keyboard driven sound...guitars will go on next week....will post when done.....

And Thanks...I appreciate the input!!!

Scholz. But close enough.

How long have you been in the biz Joe? I just saw you in the credits of Fergie's Equilibrium which was already a decade ago. You must have been very young then

Mecca - TBD

Postby Santa Ana » Fri Sep 11, 2009 4:39 am

Hey Joe -
So just wondering - how long does it take from the time that Frontiers gets the 1st mix to
when the ever anxious awaiting public  get to have it in our little hands?! :)

Ditto Vanish - Mecca ST still a long time favorite on all counts! 8)

It depends....with my timeframes usually about 5 years...HA!

Lables are all different, but Frontiers is pretty fast, and they really have a great passion for this music.....

You will have it soon....sooner rather than later!!!

Thanks a bunch for the kind words, I actually have NEVER listened to Mecca I all the way through!!! However, the songs are dear to my heart...

Agreed!!!

At times I wished I did this full time....when things happen in my personal life that distract me Mecca suffers....an incident happened a week or so back that makes me want to just quit music all together, life is a complex thing, and I am a complicated guy, so to throw me off sometimes is pretty easy.....

People have heard the 80% completed version and have said it was wayyyy stronger than Mecca I already, and these guys beat the Hell out me usually, and never candy coat shit....

So yes, I will make sure it is worth the wait....

More Mecca

Postby Santa Ana » Fri Sep 18, 2009 10:28 pm

Thanks Joe for keeping us in the loop on the progress of the next Mecca release! :-)
Definitely can appreciate that there are other things in life sometimes more important than the music ...
For me it is at those times in life when music is my source of comfort and only TOO recently
does "Falling Down" give me that strength!
Thank you again Joe and if the follow up Mecca is even stronger - Bring it on! :D

Happy Friday!

Hi....

I am VERY humbled by your post....I wrote "Falling Down" in a very difficult time in my life, it helped me writing it and to hear that someone was given strength by that song is an honor....Life is VERY difficult....many twists and turns and it is up to us, and only us how we travel down that road....I have many many time made the wrong move, said the wrong thing and generally screwed up...it is the fabric of who we are.....I am in the midst of a rebuilding of sorts myself right now.....I have lost some people that were very dear to me for a multitude of reasons....maybe I should listen to some inspirational music as well!!

I will start with "Burning Bridges".....it is BY FAR my favorite Survivor tune....the message is deep and the melodies flow along with the musical bed better than any tune of theirs I have ever heard....

A great post/topic would be - "What song/songs do you turn to when things get difficult for you?"......and why?

Agreed of "Falling Down" -- amazing, deep lyrics and a fantastic performance as well -- love the vocal arrangement at the end. Best song on the album IMO.

Looking forward the new Mecca CD. Really loved the first one. It's a very "crankable" CD.

Thanks man....

I am honored you think so.....my favorite "cranking" tune from Mecca I would be probably "Blinded by Emotion" or "Without You" cuz it's an angry tune

And as far as other artists it would be "Still of The Night" by Whitesnake.....can't get that one LOUD ENOUGH....and "Burning Bridges"........
