Jesus....!!!! What is Frankie S. doing with this band.....?! It seems he is overstraindes with the brand Survivor. He should phone Jim P. and sell his rights and duties to a man who lives Survivor and not his own ego.

When last I saw Survivor live, which was last year, they also only played about an hour and about 15 minutes of it was dedicated to guitar soloing. I love 'em but I gotta agree that the solos are a bit too much for such a short set. It also seemed to me that Marc had trouble figuring out Frankie's drifting style. I love hearing him wail on the guitar but aside from TRUE Survivor fanatics I think these solos are lost on the majority of the crowd.

I understand the limit of an hour when it was a multiple band billing but give us a few more tunes and less solos. My wife and 10 year old daughter love the music, also, but they drift off during the solos. When you've got their catalog of music only hearing 7 or 8 songs at a concert is disappointing. I haven't been able to get someone I invited to one concert back for another because there wasn't enough meat to bring them back for more.

Still my favorite band of all time but I just want more song when I see them live.

Im all for solos.

Seriously, though the show was as the reviewer says "Aside from that musical melee, the rest of the show was quite well done. The songs flowed, and talking was kept to a minimum (something a lot of SG artists could take a lesson from)."

I think they rock in concert. Just too short... Now if they booked a date to play their entire catalog, I'd pay big bucks and go anywhere for that

I gotta get out and see them live this summer...I have alot of time off this summer now, changes everywhere but all for the better and need to see some live shows....Heading out to see YoSo in Kent Ohio in a few weeks and need to see Survivor as well....Plus Mecca has a bunch of offers I have been saying "No" for a long time to but maybe now is the time to head out and play!!!

I hope all is having a great summer....It is "Too Hot To Sleep" here in Chicago!!!

JV if you do see them, please note down the setlist. No one seems to do that nowadays (especially with the Survivor website being down so long!!!).

Oh and a bit of tangent here, you might get lucky and see The Cars. Apparently they're back together sans Ben (for obvious reasons).

Benjamin Orr was one of my top 5 vocalists of all time....I will look into the Cars touring.....I never got the Todd Rundgren thing as their lead singer, but with Ocasek I would pay anything to see them!!!

I haven't heard anyhting about The New Cars... thought Todd was done with that.

Todd's one of my favorite artists and they put on a GREAT show... I saw it 3x. Ben Orr was awesome though...

Doubt Ocasek is goin back out... he purportedly hates touring. Maybe he needs the money.

Ben Orr was great man. Kasim Sulton did a good job on Drive with the New Cars, but it of course wasn't the same.

Todd unfortunately does need the money, so maybe they are goin back out as New Cars?

BTW, Billy Corgan is a huge douchebag. He ruined a pretty good band in the Pumpkins.

Check out James Iha's (old Pumpkins guitarist) solo album from several years back "Let It Come Down." Great mellow 60s/early 70s-style pop. Lennon woulda been proud of this disc.

IF they go out with Ric it will be as The Cars....the NEW Cars was the Todd distiction....unfortunately Todd had amazing cultural status, but never had enormous commercial success...if talent alone dictated your payday in music he would be set, but as we know it isnt.

I look forward to seeing them....as far as Billy and the pumkins, I was never into them.....I knew him outside of that world....and was always ok....

JV...first of all, get MECCA out on the road! I had the pleasure of seeing you guys at MRF2 and thoroughly enjoyed your show!!!! You have so many guys in your band, though, so how would you split the profits each night???? :D

The Cars are back together? I just about shit my pants. I'm researching that right after I leave the board.

Ric gets more in royalty checks then most of us make in a month. Probably even more. I wanted to see The New Cars, but just got that disc instead. I liked it. Odd tie-in here....but I saw Wang Chung in late June at Can's Fest in Chicago. They opened for the Cars on their '84 tour. 'Dance Hall Days' was their big hit back then, and it still sounded great in 2010.

Corgan is a musical genius, in my opinion. I am seeing their benefit show at the Metro on 7/27. It's not really the Pumpkins in my book, but then again, most bands out there nowadays are just a fraction of the original band. I put SP right up there with the best bands out of the 90's. Mellon Collie is one of my all time favorite discs (yes, both of them, and no, not just the radio staples). Plus, Billy is a Rushhead which makes me even more of fan of his.

First of all...THANKS!!....hahah...yes, we had 8 guys up there....but the new stuff is so musically intensive and we DID NOT want to use a bunch of samples and stuff so I had more guys...the core band is 6 guys though...not too unusual....

I am looking into The Cars rumors....if there is any truth I will be a happy man :-)
