...sure he is. But its same with JJ singing Bickler stuff and Bickler on JJ songs. The songs are made vor their voices . Frankie and JP had their inspiration with their different voices. Joe...you were involved in songtwriting for Re-Entry...do you had Robins starches and weakening in your mind when you wrote ? I really like him on ballads...remember back in his MSG days. There is song called "Nightmare", he is very powerfull on it.

...and neither did all that great covering the other one, IMO. Jamison never had Bickler's edge/attitude. On the other side...Bickler is a bit like Richie Sambora where he sounds great on his own stuff, but his vocal phrasing is limited to that one style which doesn't fit every song (ie the live version of Desperate Dreams). Very different singers.

Weirdly enough, Kevin Chalfant seems to do both eras pretty good from the little he's done with JP.

I can't agree there...Dave's versions of Broken Promises, Burning Bridges and even The Search is Over take the songs to all new levels...imo anyways...

maybe I should have been more specific. Bickler can't duplicate the melodic phrasing of Jamison (ie most of WSC, Desperate Dreams, Didn't Know It Was Love, etc). He does fine on the rock material, and the ballads.

I thought we went suddenly into the twilight zone; these recordings have been out 4 years now. Im not really fond of these versions because Robin is way better live. These are played just too safe imo and I think the vocals were just added on. Robin's a fine singer but not here.

Well, that's terrific given that up until about 3-4 months ago we were promised some epic new studio Survivor album from McSurvivor. And remember, those of us who questioned the repeated vague phrase "project" were blasted and I mean BLASTED for questioning the direction and content, so we HAVE to assume that this new kick ass material is a studio album then where does your remark leave us Survivor fans?
