More self-indulgence.....at least he isn't charging for it, but he is putting in a store.....what's he gonna sell since it's all him and nothing to do with survivor. As stated by him in his blog. The EGOMANIAC lives!!!!!!!

Hi Axe,

I'm not going to fault FS for following his passion. I just wish a big splash hadn't been made about a new album. We saw pictures, got snippets of new songs and then nothing. IF FS is working on solo material that will make me very happy. I just want some new music out of this very gifted musician. We can only hope.

Slander.......I know, you've been a beacon of hope throughout and even you've admitted that your hope is fading. Working on solo stuff????? Are you kidding me.....if this is true, then that only further fuels my egomaniac comments. Does he really think that he's big enough to put out some kind of solo project? So let's put survivor on hold yet again to feed our ego??? Wow if thats true then my comments about survivor are ringing true and the band is damn near over and out. And if that's true then sullivan will have ran the band into the ground and ruined any semblance of success they have ever had.

They've added a date in August of 2011 on Pollstar in Connecticut. Guess they'll be around at least that long...

I don't think Survivor is done at all. I just don't think it sounds like a priority right now. As owner of the name Survivor, and as an artist, I do respect FS decision to follow his passions! We all have that right. Having said that, it still doesn't explain the silence about the new "project."

FS talks of "Hambone" working with him.....he is the baddest B3 player on the planet....PERFECT for a blues project....absolute BEST choice....if ya read between the lines it look like the Survivor album is set aside for now, and FS is moving ahead with his blues project...I realize that one has been ongoing for about 15 years but it looks like that is where his energy is....they did not play many Survivor shows this summer, or not as many as the previous one by my count....and if ya look at it with a wide angle lens it looks like the past number of years they have done some shows in the summer and then thats about it....people blast JP for being everywhere, FS for being no where...I guess in between is where the fans would like them....I have a bunch of tunes I cowrote with FS for the Survivor album, I guess I should do something with them....who knows!!! Anyway, busy in studio bustin ass on Mecca tonite so have a great day all!!

If he didn´t have the power he should give the Band back to JP. He fight for the right to own the bandname but he don´t know how
to avoid it. He fool the people with new stuff, new album and promises but in the end there is just nothing. He can not believe that someone will buy his Blues stuff in place of a new Survivor album. Seems like he forgot where he come from and what makes him big. Let him play a bit "John Lee Hooker" and give all the rights back to JP. This guy have enough energy and balls for it. If he drop down the new album I´ll be done with FS and what you call "Survivor" for now.

Hi JV,

I'm a big fan of yours. I appreciate your candor. It gives some us an understanding of the ins and outs of the music industry. Frankie seems like a complex person and I'm sure he has his reasons for not making Survivor a priority right now. I appreciate the fact he wants to take his passion and talent in a different direction. Afterall I'm sure playing EOTG can get old. It's just a lot of us feel let down after the "big announcement" back in March. I was looking forward to hearing your influence on the new Survivor record. I was also really looking forward to hearing Robin on vocals. He's been with the band now for more than 4 years. Anyway, I appreciate you shedding light on what is a frustration situation for Survivor fans. If FS is working on a blues album, I look forward to that as well! I just want some new FS that I can listen to. I am looking forward to the new Mecca album as well. You've expressed to all of us how much you have put into the record personally and professionally. It has been a privilege to have you share that process.

JV, I agree FS has been talking Hambone (and never really telling who he is), very often and less of the new album for Survivor. That said, I do know from a close fan who talks regularly to FS and Marc and explained that the latter revealed that after winter holidays the Survivor album will be worked on.

What puzzles me though is why do YOU need to read between the lines. You could actually ask him right? :?

I was reading some of FS Facebook comments and he hinted that the new Survivor website could be up at anytime. Maybe there is hope. Thanks for the input MJ!

FS is a puzzle...but so am I....so I surely will never throw stones....making an album is a personal, draining, emotionally all consuming process for alot of us.....as an artist you can go two ways, the guy who makes albums, and the guy who creates art...art takes time....give him some space and see what comes out....obviously FS is in no hurry, so we should fill our ears with all the other great stuff out there until it or anything sees the light of day....it was a really bad year for both of us losing our friend (and my co-producer to that point) Dr. B.....so we all have been sidestepped schedule wise....

Hopefully it sees the light of day soon....

When it comes to losing loved ones, I think we can all appreciate the time it takes to heal if we even heal at all. It can bring you to your knees.

..think so too! All I know is that Rock Candy Records made a Re-Re Release of the debut Survivor album and the Premonition album with notes from JP and booklet. Maybe this is part of this new trouble. But I´m too far from it to know it 100 %...maybe Jimi Jamison is "the sting" ..=)..Joe..do you know more ?

I hadn't thought about the Rock Candy releases! Could the booklet in both releases have been done without FS consent? I know Andrew had mentioned the releases months ago. No I think "Sting" may be a reference to JP's releasing of a jazz album. Who knows. All I want is new music plain and simple.

So, now i'm even confused? Is there somone out there trying to take the Survivor name again?? As far as I know nobody has used the name inappropriatly recently.. Someone should ask him what the hell is going on? I mean, I caught some innuendoes and references but to the person(s) he's talking about i'm not sure...

Yeah I'm confused too. Many fans I don't think are aware of the recent Rock Candy releases. Maybe FS pissed that Peterik did the interviews for the releases? Who knows. Would like some clarification here.

Confused is right! I'm at a loss of deciphering this.

That said, One way it is talking about someone who thought there was no value in Survivor (and I know who that is if I recall the beginning of the whole Survivor name allegations) then he says about being "Sting" which throws me off.

Supersleuth Andrew is on the case. :D

lovely what makes for Survivor news these days. btw, any word of a Crossroads Moment follow-up being planned? Not exactly "Survivor", but about the next best thing these days unless someone can get a Bickler/Peterik album.
