I just found this on the web....Awesome news!

SURVIVOR’S “RE-ENTRY” TO HIT STORES NEXT WEEK

Chicago, Ill. (Music Press) - Survivor’s Frankie Sullivan has confirmed that the band will release its long awaited eighth studio album “Re-Entry” on next Tuesday. The album is the first release for the band since 2003’s “Reach” and the first with new lead singer Robin McAuley on vocals. Sullivan, who founded the band along with Jim Peterik in the late 70’s, says the work will feature 12 all-new track and one ‘surprise’ re-make.

“To be honest, I’m as proud of this record as any that we have recorded,” said Sullivan. “The vibe during the entire process was just so solid. The tunes are some of the best that we have ever written and Robin just tears it up on vocals. I think a lot of people are going to be really taken back by this album.”

Sullivan says that while the album will feature hints of the trademark Survivor sound, fans should expect a little more grit than the last couple of albums.

“It’s classic Survivor for sure,” said Sullivan. “But this thing rocks like nothing I’ve done a long time. I know fans have waited for sometime for the album, but I’m 100 percent sure that our fans will feel this is well worth the wait.

Sullivan says the band plans a ‘lengthy’ tour to help support the album and hints that fans will be ‘pleasantly’ surprised at where they will be able to see the band this summer.

“I really can’t reveal a lot, as the ink is still just a little wet,” said Sullivan. “But I would definitely look for us this summer playing on a bill with some bands from our era that you will certainly recognize.”

Sullivan, who turned 56 this year, first hit it big in the early 80’s after co-writing the sports anthem “Eye of the Tiger.” He says he is more than happy to still be rocking into his mid 50’s.

“It’s really just a state of mind,” said Sullivan, referring to his age. “It’s all about vibes and the things you let in. It’s the negativity that makes people get old. I don’t get into that man. I just keep working and working and playing and writing and doing what I love. I might as well be 25 in that sense.”

Survivor’s “Re-Entry will be released next week in the US and abroad. Sullivan said fans can expect to see the album on Itunes and other select digital distribution channels. In addition, the Itunes version is set to feature an additional live track recorded late last year with McAuley.

“It’s an exciting time,’ added Sullivan. “I can’t wait to get this project in the hands of the fans. I can’t wait to get their reaction and I can’t wait to take the material on the road at larger venues than we’ve played in years. It’s going to be our year I think.”

That was one of the more convincing April Fools jokes I've seen today. Good job, Eyeof!

The sad thing is no matter how official this looks the idea of a new Survivor album is so ridiculous there is no April Fools Joke. For there to be a joke something actually has to be possible!!!!!

Um, you might want to remove this post. Frankie just updated his blog on frankiesullivan.com, and he's not happy about it:

Hello friends...

It seems the lies about Survivor are alive and well. If you visit certain 'other' sites, you may have seen some nonsense about the new Survivor album being released next week. This is NOT true. I created this little corner of cyberspace so I could keep you all up to date on the TRUTH about Survivor, so we could finally cast aside the all the lies that creep into this business. Don't believe what you read elsewhere, this is the only place to come for truth!

I am putting the finishing touches on the opening riff of first song for the new album, "How Do You Feel," and it will be available when the new Survivor website is up and running. I wrote this song myself, and I am very excited for all of you to hear it. When the new album is ready, you will hear about it here first! My good buddy Ron Nevison has told me that it is the greatest thing he has ever heard in his life... a powerful affirmation from a man who has heard so much!

This will be another exciting year for Survivor! I truly feel we are in our Golden Years. The past decade has been a great time to be a Survivor fan, and the best is yet to come.

Stay strong,
Frankie Sullivan

It was pretty damn awesome :)

Too bad the best thing Ron Nevison has ever heard is still languishing somewhere between here and hell. Release the fucking single already, Frankie!!!! LOL.

That was good stuff, Eyeof...
