Not much new here, but Frankie's comments are always interesting, at least I think so. http://www.timesonline.com/entertainmen ... 3e526.html

But why the words "Eye of the Tiger"?

"I don't know, just there it was," Sullivan said. "We kind of stumbled onto it. It just stuck. If you've ever seen the eyes of a tiger you know they don't mess around. If you make a wrong movie they're going to rip your head off."

Stallone's initial reaction: "I love that title," according to Sullivan.

So, wait... did Stallone add the phrase "eye of the tiger" to the movie AFTER hearing the song? That doesn't seem likely, but if the phrase was already in the film, why is Frankie acting like it just came to him out of nowhere?

So Stallone mailed them the entire movie, which the band enjoyed watching.
"I mean, it had Mr. T. in it, and Sly was really chiseled," Sullivan said.

The first thing that popped into my mind after reading this was, "Do you like movies about Gladiators?"

Because he's so confused trying to recall how JP actually wrote it that it gets all tangled up in his mind!

And as usual sullivan's version is full of half truths and how he remembers things. Guess he mustve forgotten that stalone also called peterik at the same time leaving the same message, or that they were given a brief clip of the movie and after seeing that then ask stalone for the whole movie. Or that stalone also told them that they wanted "something for the kids" along with the whole pulse comment...or maybe how yes the title was just there but that as they watched the movie apollo creed told rocky that when he fought apollo he'd had the eye of the tiger and needed to get that back.....thus prompting peterik to turn to sullivan and tell him there's our title. Or maybe he's forgotten that the version in the movie is the DEMO version that they gave stalone and when they told him it wasn't done and just a demo he said to leave it just like it was, meaning sullivan NEVER went and spent all that time mixing it with stalone....something of which he even admits in the last line in the interview about how the song was kicking ass and the ENGINEER did a good job.....if he did all that work etc a) why would someone else engineer it b) why wouldn't he already know what it sounded like......thye didn't finish it til they were doing the Tiger album.

But don't let the truth stop you from spouting off about your seeming need of self-importance and how you and only you are survivor.......sorry frankie since i know that you are reading this.......some of us actually do know the truth and not just your self-important version of it.

How come nobody ever ask him about the creative process that yielded "Freelance" and "Home"....Now that would be awesome!

Actually if I had JP and FS in the same room, I'd love to talk to them about Premonition. they were in control of the record making process. The music on it is amazing. One of my favorite records.

Frankie Sullivan doesn't see any value in Survivor.
