One Hit Wonder?

Postby RockInDetroit » Tue Sep 11, 2012 11:39 pm

Don't know how many of you have heard of the game called SongPop. I play it on my iphone but it is also on facebook. Anyways, the point of the game is to guess which song/artist is playing in the fastest amount of time. There is a category on there called One-Hit Wonders and you guessed it Survivor is one of the artists they consider a one-hit wonder (for EOTT). It is funny because in the 80's category they play the Search Is Over also.

To many, Survivor is a one-hit wonder. Many couldn't even name the group that did the song. It's sad. I have and will continue to blame Scotti Bros for the drop in popularity after Vital Signs. They had a good thing and blew it. Of course, I wouldn't take too much stock in an iPhone or Facebook app when it comes to accuracy of data...

I've heard ignoramus DJ doofuses call Rick Springfield a one hit wonder and he's had 17 Top 40 hits and 2 #1s.

Some folks just don't get out much.

Yep, and that DJ dude probably believes, that one hit he was reffering to was 'Celebrate Youth' . I just recently grabbed 'Venus In Overdrive' for the car and it is a just brilliant album. Good Hooks, fresh sound...a real melodic rock masterpiece.

Survivor is NOT a one hit wonder....BUT they are a band that hardly anybody really knows past EOTT.....that is the problem...did not tour enough....did not promote enough....SHAME!

Yes...that is the fault of the band...not of the people that think that...If they don't know Survivor had those other songs, who's fault it that? Can't blame the mass for not getting the message...

98.5 shows Survivor quite a bit of love. I never ever listen to the radio anymore, but I know in the past I've heard nearly all those songs on 98.5 multiple times.
