Anyone on here watch this past Tuesday's episode of "The Goldbergs?"

They kept playing EOTT over and over in the episode. It clearly was NOT the original version by Survivor. At times it kind of sounded like it could be a recently recorded version with Bickler on vocals. At other times it sounded like it may have been a different singer who did a good Bickler impression.

And no, it was NOT the rerecording of the song with Jamison on vocals.

Earlier this season "The Goldbergs" played "The Search Is Over" twice in an episode. But it was a cover version with someone other than Jamison on vocals.

They've also played songs from "Night Ranger" "Styx" and other great AOR bands. And they make reference to the "Rocky" and "Rambo" and "Karate Kid" movies.

It's a very funny show, too.

Yeah, in addition to the cover versions of Survivor and Night Ranger on The Goldberg's, Modern Family had an all together different version of TSIO in one of their episodes last season. I know how all here feel about the band, but I think this is a progress with respect to previous years and it's certainly exciting to see how the 2 singers approach is still alive and doing better than ever. Any Survivor fan should just enjoy it for as long as that lasts...

Marc Droubay is currently not playing with the band...obviously no statements on this by FS nor by Marc in person. Frankie's son is replacing him.

I wonder what happened...injury? feuds? Who knows. What's clear is that the band sounds terrible without him. I've said it many times, Marc is an amazing drummer, it just can't be replaced by a kid.

I saw them on 7/8 in Elk Grove. The first thing I noticed was no Marc, when we arrived for soundcheck. They sounded OK, but there was just something missing..huge let down in terms of the backbone of the sound. The setlist was the same as the one posted from 7/5, which was a nice mix. Same issues with on stage banter between the three and the long, drawn out jams are annoying. If the time spent jamming was eliminated, they could easily add at least 2 songs to the setlist. FS did mention they had to 'replace a friend' and 'that's my son, Ryan Sullivan, on drums.' Cost saving measure? Who knows?

Hung around after; DB cool and JJ cool as always. FS on a bit of an ego trip in 2014 when it came to wanting a picture with him (he was asked by 3-4 people max) or getting a few things signed (again, 4 people max asked for something to be signed). He did sign my Premonition LP right over Peterik's face. While walking to my car, I couldn't help but think how much better this band would be if JP was still in it...

I agree with you on Marc. It would really bother me if now that we 'gained' back 2 original members, another one is gonna be left behind.
But seeing as Marc had left his place on the drums to Ryan for couple of songs previously already, I suspect this has more to do with an injury that is currently forcing him to step out and heal. Of course some statement from the bandcamp would be greatly appreciated....

Droubay and Ellis are vitally important to the Survivor sound. It sucks bad enough that Ellis isn't still in the band. But I'd miss Droubay even more.

Saw them in MATTAWA , ONTARIO this weekend and the two singers sounded GREAT !!.....SULLIVAN still trying to steal the show for no reasons (talking gibberish,solos,wasting time in any way possible,etc.....you all know what I'm talking about) The Drummer acts more like a timekeeper then DROUBAY but maybe he just needs more time to take his own place and get the groove going.....too bad MARC is gone........JJ and BICKLER gave their all......

Hi BARON, I wasn't able to attend, I gave up the 6 hours drive from home...
I know the attendance was high.
Do you have any hint that Marc is actually 'gone' for good?
